Shortly after the events of The Avengers, a couple finds a Chitauri gun left behind after the Battle of New York. The couple decides to use it to rob banks. Felix Blake sends Jasper Sitwell to retrieve the Chitauri gun and to eliminate the couple. Though, after discovering that the husband managed to repair the damaged gun, he recruits them to be agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. instead (which leads directly into the ABC series, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.).
Iron Man 3 (2013)

The seventh film in the MCU, Iron Man 3, is set six months after the events of The Avengers. Tony Stark, who is suffering from PTSD after his near-death experience during the Battle of New York, devotes his time to creating more Iron Man suits in order to protect the world from more dire threats like the Chitauri. A terrorist known as the Mandarin has caused destruction and chaos for a while, and Tony publicly calls him out. Tony teams up with James Rhodes/Iron Patriot and a genius kid named Harley Keener to stop the Mandarin, which is revealed to be a actor named Trevor Slattery, with the real mastermind actually being Aldrich Killian. The film ends with Slattery arrested, Killian killed by a Extremis powered Pepper, and Tony destroying his suits in order to spend more time with Pepper. An end credits scene shows Tony telling his story to an unconscious Bruce Banner.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Season 1) (2013-2014)

After the climatic Battle of New York in The Avengers, S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Phil Coulson (who was killed by Loki in The Avengers) has returned to lead his own team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents to combat the supernatural threats that the Avengers can't deal with. Coulson's team includes skilled combatant Grant Ward, young scientists Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons, pilot and skilled combatant Melinda May, and expert hacker Skye. They start off dealing with left over Chitauri tech, Extremis soldiers, and even Asgardian relics. Which leads in the next film of the MCU.
Thor: The Dark World (2013)

We head back to Asgard for the eighth entry in the MCU, Thor: The Dark World. Thor and his friends, Lady Sif and the Warriors Three, work together to bring peace to the Nine Realms after they spun into chaos following the events of Thor and The Avengers. Loki is imprisoned for his crimes against Earth by his adoptive father Odin. Malekith, the leader of the Dark Elves, returns in exact his plans to plunge the universe into darkness using the power of the Aether, one of the six Infinity Stones. Thor, Jane Foster, Darcy Lewis, Erik Selvig, and Ian Boothby (Darcy's intern) team up to stop Malekith. Loki fakes his death and poses as Odin to rule Asgard. A mid-credits scene shows Sif and Volstagg giving the Aether (Reality Stone) to the Collector (who appears again in Guardians of the Galaxy), since the Asgardians already have the Tesseract (Space Stone) stored away in Asgard's vault.
Marvel One-Shot: All Hail The King (2014)

A few months after the events of Iron Man 3, Trevor Slattery, now residing at Seagate Prison, is enjoying his celebrity status as the terrorist known as the Mandarin. Though not everyone is impressed, specifically Justin Hammer (who was arrested in Iron Man 2). A documentary is being told about Trevor's life, including how he began his acting career and what led him to work for Aldrich Killian to become the Mandarin. Thought, it appears to be a trap, as members of the Ten Rings have invaded the prison in order to capture Trevor to bring him to the real Mandarin, who is unhappy at him for disgracing his name publicly.

Dealing with the aftermaths of Thor: The Dark World, Phil Coulson and his team clean up the wreckage left behind by Thor and the Dark Elves in England. Multiple Asgardian artifacts have been left behind on Earth, some more dangerous than others. The team even meet a few Asgardians, including Elliot Randolph, fugitive Lorelei who has the power to control men, and even Lady Sif, who was sent to Earth by Odin (Loki in disguise) to retrieve Lorelei who escaped after the Dark Elf invasion. Sif is surprised to see Coulson is alive again after she heard of his death at the hands of Loki. Coulson asks her not to tell Thor, as he wants to tell him himself. Coulson learns that the drug that brought him back to life, GH.325, is Kree blood and that his mind was wiped so he wouldn't remember the experience. A deeper secret within S.H.I.E.L.D. is revealed and everybody is not how they seem to be.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)

The ninth entry in the MCU, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, sees Steve Rogers, now an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., adjusting to modern day after being asleep for nearly 70 years. Cap, Black Widow, and Sam Wilson/Falcon discover that Hydra, the Nazi scientist organization, has been hidden inside S.H.I.E.L.D. for years, eliminating threats that could foil their plans, including Tony Stark's parents, Howard and Maria Stark. Cap, Widow, Falcon, Nick Fury, and Maria Hill team up to defeat Hydra before they can take over the world. They also have to deal with the Winter Soldier, who was revealed to be Steve's long lost friend, Bucky Barnes, who was presumed dead during WWII. The film ends with two after credits scenes. The first one shows Baron Strucker is in possession of Loki's specter from The Avengers, which contains the Mind Stone, one of the six Infinity Stones. He uses its power to create his own army of enchanted soldiers, including the Sokovian twins Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver and Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch. The second one shows Bucky at the Captain America exhibit at the Smithsonian to remember who he really is.

Coulson and his team deal with the aftermaths of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and learn that some of their allies have deceived them the whole time, including John Garrett/Clairvoyant and Grant Ward. Garrett plans on using the Centipede Serum to give himself the power to conquer the world, and Grant Ward nearly drowns Fitz and Simmons, who are saved by Nick Fury. Coulson and Fury work together to stop Garrett, and Skye and May defeat Ward and put a end to their plans to take over the world. With S.H.I.E.L.D. compromised, the team decide to rebuild the organization from the ground up and focus their efforts on stopping Hydra.
Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

The tenth film in the MCU, Guardians of the Galaxy, follows Peter Quill/Star-Lord, the half-human, half-alien outlaw who team ups with a ragtag team of intergalactic criminals who come from tragic backgrounds. Gamora, the infamous daughter of Thanos, Drax the Destroyer. a one man army who plans to avenge his family's deaths, Groot, a sentient tree who can only say three words, and Rocket, a genetically engineered raccoon and Groot's best friend. These five unlikely heroes band together as the Guardians of the Galaxy in order to defeat the Kree radical Ronan the Accuser, who plans to use the power of the Orb (Power Stone), one of the six Infinity Stones, to destroy Xandar, the capital planet of the Nova Corps. Ronan is defeated by the Guardians using the Power Stone held by Peter Quill, who finds out about his alien heritage. Groot "dies" but is resurrected by Rocket and grows into a baby.

Fitz is still trying to adjust after nearing drowning and suffering head injuries. And Raina is up to her old tricks again. The team discover an ancient secret that changes Skye's life forever.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)

Despite being released in 2017, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set only a few months after the events of the first movie. It serves as the fifthteenth film in the MCU. Peter Quill finally discovers who his true father is, a Celestial planet named Ego. Gamora tries to make amends with her sister Nebula and learns more about her tragic abuse from Thanos. Rocket, Baby Groot, and Yondu, leader of the Ravagers, learn more about each other and find out they're not so different. And Drax makes a new friend in Mantis, a young Empathic who has little to no social skills. Peter learns that his dad isn't who he thought he is as Ego plans to expand his mind among every other planet in the universe, and that he's the one who killed his mother when he was a kid. The Guardians defeat and kill Ego, but at the cause of Peter's true father, Yondu.
Daredevil (Season 1) (2015)

The first Netflix series of the MCU and the first to lead to The Defenders, Daredevil focuses on blind lawyer Matt Murdock, who got his powers at a young age which gave him super senses, as he fight crimes in Hell's Kitchen as the masked vigilante, Daredevil. Dealing with the aftermath of The Avengers, the city is still recovering after the Battle of New York, which allows criminal mastermind Wilson Fisk to turn Hell's Kitchen into his criminal empire. Alongside friends Foggy Nelson, Karen Page, and Night Nurse, Claire Temple, Matt uses his skills as both a lawyer and a vigilante to take down Fisk and save Hell's Kitchen.
Jessica Jones (Season 1) (2015)

Coming back to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Skye and Raina learn that they are part of an ancient race of humans with abilities known as the Inhumans. Skye finds her mother and her father informs her of her past, including her real name, Daisy Johnson. The team deals with the death of Trip, and Coulson makes an uneasy alliance with Ward. Daisy finds a safe haven for Inhumans called Afterlife and meets Lincoln Campbell, who has the ability to control electricity. Maria Hill finds the location of Strucker's hidden Hydra base, as well as Loki's specter. Coulson tells Hill that it's time to call in the Avengers. Raina has a vision that could mean the end of the world as we know it.
Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

Avengers: Age of Ultron serves as the eleventh film in the MCU. The Avengers assemble once again to shut down Strucker's Hydra operations in Sokovia and retrieve Loki's specter. Tony and Bruce use the specter to create Ultron, an A.I. designed to protect the world. Ultron goes rogue and he meets Ulysses Klaue and buy stolen Wakandan virbranium from him. Tony and Bruce create the Vision using a virbranium body taken from Ultron powered by the Mind Stone and the A.I. J.A.R.V.I.S. The Avengers, along with the Maximoff twins, Vision, and War Machine fight Ultron and his drones at Sokovia while S.H.I.E.L.D. evacuates the city with a Helicarrier recovered by Phil Coulson. Ultron is defeated, but not before Quicksilver dies protecting Hawkeye. Hulk leaves Earth on a Quinjet, Thor searches for the other Infinity Stones, Tony and Clint retire from the Avengers, and Cap and Widow train Falcon, War Machine, Scarlet Witch and Vison to become Avengers. A mid credits scene shows Thanos putting on the Infinity Gauntlet and plans to retrieve the Infinity Stones himself.

Daisy's mother Jiaying is revealed to be a sadistic and deceitful person as she plans to destroy S.H.I.E.L.D. and kill all non-Inhumans using the Terrigen crystals. Coulson convinces Daisy's father, Calvin Zabo to help stop Jiaying before she destroys S.H.I.E.L.D. In the end, Calvin kills Jiaying, the Inhumans are free from her rule, and Calvin is given a second chance to live as a normal civilian. Coulson and Daisy initiate the Secret Warriors Initiative.

The twelfth and final film of Phase 2 of the MCU, Ant-Man, focuses on former thief Scott Lang who, after getting released from prison, meets tech genius Hank Pym, who recruits Scott to wear his shrinking suit in order to break into his former company, Pym Tech, in order to steal a high tech battle suit called the Yellowjacket from Hank's former protégé, Darren Cross, who plans to sell the suit for criminal purposes. Scott and his friends, Luis, Dave, and Kurt team up with Hank and his daughter Hope van Dyne to stop Cross. The film ends with Scott as the new Ant-Man, he and Hope are in a relationship now, and Hank tries to find a way to bring back his wife Janet van Dyne, who is trapped in the Quantum Realm. A post-credit scene shows Hank showing Hope a prototype version of her mother's suit, the Wasp. The second is a scene taken directly from Captain America: Civil War.
Daredevil (Season 2) (2016)

We return to the mean streets of Hell's Kitchen for the second season of Daredevil. A few months after season 1, Matt Murdock continues to protect Hell's Kitchen as Daredevil. He and Foggy are now successful lawyers after the arrest of Wilson Fisk and Matt enters in a relationship with Karen. At the same time, he now has to deal with a new vigilante who takes things to the extreme. Former soldier Frank Castle cleans up the streets of Hell's Kitchen as the Punisher. He also needs to deal with the return of his former love, Elektra Natchios, as well as his mentor Stick who tells him that a war is coming to New York that he's not prepared for. The second half of Daredevil Season 2 happens around the same time as Luke Cage Season 1 as Claire Temple leaves Hell's Kitchen and moves to Harlem after the Hand invasion at the hospital.
Luke Cage (Season 1) (2016)

Luke Cage is the third Netflix series to lead up to The Defenders. Set after the events of Daredevil Season 2, Luke Cage returns after his appearance in Jessica Jones and is now resided in Harlem at Pop's Barbershop. Luke is forced to take action when Harlem's most dangerous criminal, Cornell Stokes/Cottonmouth, takes control of the neighborhood alongside his cousin Mariah Dillard and a ghost from Luke's past, Hernan Alvarez/Shades. Luke also has to deal with his best friend and brother turned enemy, Willis Stryker/Diamondback, who is the one responsible for Luke getting arrested in the first place. The show ends with Luke going back to Seagate to serve his sentence, and Claire deciding to take self-defense classes at Colleen Wing's dojo, which sets up Iron Fist Season 1.

Season 3 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has the agents focus their efforts on finding any incoming Inhumans after the Terrigen crystals got into the fish oil supply. Coulson decides to put a end to Hydra and to Grant Ward once and for all, as Hydra plans to release an ancient and dangerous Inhuman into the world.

The Defenders is set a few months after the events of Daredevil Season 2 and Iron Fist Season 1. Matt stopped being Daredevil for a while after Elektra's death. Jessica is trying to get her life back on track after Kilgrave's death. Luke is being sprung out of prison. And Danny and Colleen have been traveling the world to find members of K'un L'un around this time. Alexandra also brings Elektra back to life under the name "the Black Sky".
