"This is how he negotiates, huh?"
Prohaszka to John Healy[src]

The Assassination of Mister Prohaszka was a murder of Prohaszka, planned by Wilson Fisk to take control over the Kitchen Cab.

Background[]

In order to maintain the successful Steel Serpent distribution in New York City, the Russian Mafia needed a front, so they chose the Kitchen Cab taxi company. However, Prohaszka would refuse to sell his company, despite James Wesley trying to negotiate with him.[4] Eventually, Wilson Fisk hired John Healy and ordered him to kill Prohaszka, while Turk Barrett provided him with the handgun.[5]

John Healy went to Whitestone Lanes bowling alley where Prohaszka was playing, he first approached the woman behind the counter and politely asked if he could play, she informed him that only Prohaszka could play when he wanted. Healy walked over to Prohaszka and asked him if he could play with him, Healy was rudely refused and pushed away by his bodyguards. Healy defended himself and attacked his bodyguards, causing them to flee before drawing his gun. Healy then attempted to shoot Prohaszka, but his gun jammed, despite Turk Barrett's claims. Prohaszka attacked Healy with a bowling ball and the two engaged in a brief but vicious fight, Healy managed to break Prohaszka's arm before killing him by crushing his face with a bowling ball.[5]

Aftermath[]

"I want a lawyer."
John Healy[src]

Once Prohaszka was murdered, John Healy surrendered to the New York City Police Department and calmly requested a lawyer. While the Russian Mafia proceeded to absorb the Kitchen Cab into the Veles Taxi, James Wesley approached Nelson and Murdock on behalf of the Confederated Global Investments, offering them to represent Healy in court. Although Foggy Nelson was impressed by the money Wesley offered, he was suspicious of the case but Matt Murdock agreed to defend Healy.

During the court hearing, Murdock noticed that the jury's heartbeat increased when Wesley entered the courtroom and followed her at night as the man in the mask. The vigilante found out that the jury was being blackmailed and attacked the man, who told him that the case was already settled regardless. Back at the court, the jury concluded that there was not enough evidence to convict Healy and released him. Afterwards, the masked man attacked Healy and demanded him to tell the name of a person he worked for. Healy eventually admitted that he was working for Wilson Fisk and knowing that he and his family are now done for, Healy took his own life.[5]
