Basra is a city in southern Iraq.
In 2008, Lance Hunter, lieutenant of the Special Air Service of the British Armed Forces, was deployed to Basra in a mission codenamed "Operation Panther's Claw", that he managed to accomplish. Years later, Glenn Talbot mentioned this particular mission to point Hunter's impressive service record.
Members of the United States Marine Corps Frank Castle and Billy Russo were stationed in Basra on the mission. However, they were surrounded by enemies in a house with no backup. Castle and Russo spent the night, exchanging fire with hostiles before they were evacuated.
