Battle of Sokovia
- "He decided to spend his summer building sustainable housing for the poor. Guess where, Sokovia. He wanted to make a difference, I suppose. I mean, we won't know because we dropped a building on him while we were kicking ass."
- ―Tony Stark[src]
Spencer was raised by his mother Miriam, a member of the State Department. After getting a degree in computer engineering, he decided to spend his summer in Sokovia and help build sustainable housing for the poor.
Eventually, Spencer started working in the capital city of Novi Grad and witnessed the Avengers fight the rogue artificial intelligence Ultron, who used a vibranium-based technology to lift a large section of the city skyward. During the conflict, Spencer was crushed to death by rubble from a collapsing building.[1]
Legacy
- "Who's going to avenge my son, Stark? He's dead, and I blame you."
- ―Miriam Sharpe to Tony Stark[src]
His death caused his mother to confront Tony Stark about their actions without restrictions, leading him to agree with the Sokovia Accords as Stark came to believe they would be no better than villains if they did not exercise or have restraints.
