"You really think that changed anything? You think one man in a silly little costume will make a difference?"
Wilson Fisk to Daredevil

Daredevil is the thirteenth and final episode of the first season of the television series Daredevil.

Synopsis[]

In the season finale, a boxed-in Fisk and a desperate Murdock, Foggy and Karen are forced to play their end games.

Plot[]

BenUrich-Funeral-Silvo

Matt Murdock and Karen Page attend Ben Urich's funeral, presided by Paul Lantom, as well as Mitchell Ellison and Doris Urich. Page apologizes to Doris, thinking that Urich's death was her fault, but Doris tells her that her husband would never do anything he did not want himself. Speaking to Lantom, Murdock laments that Urich died because he failed to stop what was happening in New York City, although Lantom tells him that he did more than enough. Page is upset that Foggy Nelson did not show up for the service and Murdock tells her that Nelson is avoiding them because of him. Page is scared that Wilson Fisk might come after her next but Murdock promises her that Fisk will get what is coming for him.

Wilson-Fisk-threatens-Leland-Owlsley

Fisk meets with Leland Owlsley to discuss their operation and Fisk asks to look through the disrepancies in the transfers that James Wesley made before his death, and notices that Owlsley is nervous. Fisk confronts Owlsley that he was involved in Wesley's death, and although he dismisses that, Fisk accuses him of being involved in the poisoning of Marianna with Madame Gao. Owlsley admits that they wanted to get rid of Marianna so Fisk could focus on their operations, before telling Fisk that he is leaving the organization with the half of his money. He then informs Fisk that he is keeping Carl Hoffman as a leverage on Fisk, but he murders Owlsley and orders his men to find and kill Hoffman.

Nelson meets with Murdock at Fogwell's Gym and tells that he did not go to the funeral because he was working with Marci Stahl on how to bring Fisk down. He then tells Murdock that if he keeps going after Fisk in the mask, it will only end in the death of either one of them, and insists that they must take Fisk down by using the law, saying that he will return to Nelson and Murdock. Meeting with Brett Mahoney, they tell him that Urich was killed by Fisk when he was trying to expose the truth about him. Murdock then overhears Corbin talking about the order of finding Hoffman, who was stashed somewhere by Owlsley and could talk about all of Fisk's dealings. Murdock, Nelson and Page then go through Silver & Brent records and find an unlisted property which was owned by Owlsley.

MaskedMan-HoffmanThreat

Meanwhile, Fisk also gets informed that the NYPD found Hoffman and orders to send a team there, leaving no survivors. The corrupt NYPD officers led by Corbin storm the place and kill all the guards there, just before Hoffman was about to get dropped at the FBI. However, before they could kill Hoffman, the man in the mask saves Hoffman and tells him to turn himself in to Mahoney and testify about Fisk, as it was his only chance. With Nelson and Murdock representing him, Hoffman tells the FBI everything he knew, which results in the mass arrests of Fisk's associates, including Randolph Cherryh, Parish Landman, Turk Barrett, Corbin and M. Caldwell. The FBI then storms Fisk's penthouse and takes him into custody, after he manages to give Marianna a ring and tell her to leave the city.

Daredevil Red Suit 13

As Murdock, Nelson and Page celebrate their victory, Fisk is transorted in the convoy by the FBI and NYPD, however, a group of armed mercenaries attack the convoy and Fisk escapes with the help of the FBI agent on his payroll. Seeing the news of Fisk's escape, Murdock meets with Melvin Potter and take a suit he designed for him, before going to take Fisk down himself. Murdock eventually catches up to Fisk and after a brutal showdown in the alley, he defeats Fisk and leaves him to Mahoney, while Marianna leaves the city alone. The press dubs the vigilante "Daredevil", and while Nelson and Murdock resume their law practice, Fisk gets put into prison, staring at the blank wall, like when he was a child. Although Fisk is neutralized, New York City still remains a dangerous place, so Daredevil goes out to patrol the city.
