The Electric Net Grenade is a 40mm grenade round for a standard grenade launcher designed to deploy a wired net charged with electrical currents around a target.
History[]
Following her encounter with Raina in the Kree City, Jemma Simmons tasked her Science Division to develop heavier suppression artillery, given that the I.C.E.R.s had little to no effect on some dangerous individuals. While her team developed a more concentrated formula of dendrotoxin, Simmons informed Phil Coulson that some other weapons had been developed to be used in their mission to chase the individual that fought Lady Sif in Portugal.
Lance Hunter went to check these new weapons already loaded on the Bus, unawarely interrupting Leo Fitz and Skye's conversation about how she lost control of her new powers during her encounter against Vin-Tak.
Later, Hunter took a grenade launcher loaded with these charges to the city of Chaves when S.H.I.E.L.D. discovered that Vin-Tak was headed there, as it was the location where Daniel Whitehall first found the Obelisk in 1945. Hunter taunted Vin-Tak before shooting, and the grenade deployed upon contact, revealing a net charged with heavy electrical currents that disabled Vin-Tak and allowed S.H.I.E.L.D. to capture him.[1]
