A former United States Army assassin, John Bruno was placed on the Index by S.H.I.E.L.D., as his obsession with creating elaborate ways to kill made him to dangerous. Bruno was imprisoned in the sub-basement of the Brynmore Psychiatric Facility in Ohio along with David Angar. When Calvin Zabo broke into the prison to recruit Angar, he had Wendell Levi shut down the power, freeing the prisoners, while Bruno remained at the prison. He attempted to ambush Phil Coulson and Bobbi Morse when they came to investigate, but was easily overpowered by Morse.[1]
