Marvel's Jessica Jones, simply Jessica Jones, or AKA Jessica Jones, is an American web television series based on the Marvel Comics superhero of the same name. It is the fourth television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The series was produced by Marvel Television and ABC Studios, and originally released on Netflix.

The first season was released on November 20, 2015. The second season was released on March 8, 2018. The third and final season was released on June 14, 2019.

On February 11, 2022, it was reported that the series would be leaving Netflix on March 1.[1] It was later announced that the series would be moved to Disney+ on March 16.[2]

Season One[]

Ever since her short-lived stint as a superhero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic, badass private detective in Hell's Kitchen, New York City. Plagued by self-loathing, and a wicked case of PTSD, Jessica battles demons from within and without, using her extraordinary abilities as an unlikely champion for those in need... especially if they're willing to cut her a check.

Season Two[]

New York City private investigator Jessica Jones is beginning to put her life back together after murdering her tormenter, Kilgrave. Now known throughout the city as a super-powered killer, a new case makes her reluctantly confront who she really is while digging deeper into her past to explore the reasons why.

Season Three[]

When Jessica crosses paths with a highly intelligent psychopath, she and Trish must repair their fractured relationship and team up to take him down. But a devastating loss reveals their conflicting ideas of heroism and sets them on a collision course that will forever change them both.

On December 17, 2010, it was reported that Melissa Rosenberg was developing a series centered on Jessica Jones for ABC.[3]

On July 23, 2011, Jeph Loeb announced that the series would include the characters Carol Danvers and Luke Cage.[4]

On November 16, 2011, Melissa Rosenberg confirmed that the series would take place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She also revealed that Tony Stark and Stark Industries were in the current draft of the pilot episode's script.[5]

On May 15, 2012, Paul Lee announced that ABC had passed on the series.[6]

On November 7, 2013, Disney announced that Marvel Television and ABC Studios would provide Netflix with television series' centered on Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage.[7] Five days later, it was reported that Melissa Rosenberg was still attached to the project as writer and executive producer.[8]

On December 4, 2014, it was reported that Krysten Ritter had been cast as the title character in the series.[9]

On February 6, 2015, it was reported that the series had begun production under the working title "Violet".[10]

On February 18, 2019, Netflix announced that the series had been canceled after three seasons.[11]

On February 17, 2019, Jeph Loeb wrote a letter to the fans of the canceled Marvel Netflix series.[12]
