"In here, I'm Squabbles. Reggie, he had a job, a family, a life."
"You still have a family."
"I haven't seen my family in years. I asked them for forgiveness. It seems like they don't really care."
―Squabbles and Reva Connors[src]

Reggie, better known as Squabbles, was an inmate at Seagate Prison during the time that Carl Lucas was incarcerated. Squabbles befriended Lucas, and acted as his trainer during the time that he fought in Albert Rackham's underground fight ring. Squabbles was killed by Shades and Comanche when they were trying to learn about Lucas' plans to bring down the fight ring.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Selling Illegal Drugs[]

"I used to live on 42nd Street back in the day. Five Deadly Venoms, Clan of the White Lotus, Five Fingers of Death."
"You think you can fight because you watch kung fu flicks?"
"I know I can fight because I owned that cornerback when I sold dope. And any asshole who tried to take anything from me learned up close how I became Golden Glove champ for seven years."
―Squabbles and Carl Lucas[src]

Reggie used to live on 42nd Street in Manhattan, where he sold marijuana. Reggie was an avid fan of Kung Fu movies, and he was once a Golden Gloves champion.[1]

Seagate Inmate[]

Meeting Carl Lucas[]

Reggie was incarcerated in Seagate Penitentiary, where he met Carl Lucas. He went to psychology meetings with Reva Connors where he claimed that Reggie had a family. He then changed his name to Squabbles. When Lucas talked back to Connors, Squabbles talked to him about his worries. Lucas told him to keep looking if he wanted a friend. The next day, Squabbles noticed Lucas about to murder Comanche, but he stopped Lucas. Another day, Connors talked about how Jimmy Quinto took a plea bargain. Lucas questioned her and she gave a legitimate answer. Squabbles said that never happens.[1]

Training with Carl Lucas[]

Albert Rackham liked Lucas' skills and wanted him for a fighting ring. When Lucas refused, Rackham had Comanche stab an inmate and framed Squabbles for it, causing Squabbles to get attacked by guards. Lucas then agreed. Squabbles trained Carl Lucas for fighting and held the punching bad as Lucas worked. When Squabbles talked about his favorite fighter, Lucas jokingly told him he won't allow him to train him.[1]

Illegal Fight Club[]

Squabbles joined Carl Lucas as they went to the illegal fight club. Lucas was a great competitor with Squabbles as his coach. Squabbles became worried that Lucas was changing. He asked when the last time Lucas showered or cut his hair was. Lucas assured him that he hadn't lost his way. Reva Connors asked Squabbles the deal with Lucas, but Squabbles refused to talk.[1]

Killed by Shades and Comanche[]

Lucas finally told Squabbles what Rackham threatened. As Lucas left, two officers came in and asked what Lucas was saying. Squabbles refused to talk so he was beat up by Shades and Comanche. Squabbles was finally forced to talk after a big beating, but eventually died due to the trauma.[1]

Personality[]

Squabbles was more caring than anyone in the prison. He befriended Carl Lucas and helped him find his way back. He never wanted to betray Lucas and even took a beating for Lucas, which eventually killed him.

Abilities[]

  • Combatant: Reggie was a former Golden Gloves champion for seven years, and he used his skills to defend himself when he sold marijuana. He instructed Luke Cage on proper fighting stance and technique with tips like "stay on your center line. Head, chin, chest, stomach, and if you have to, get at them nuts. Stay inside your man's shoulders," "keep him off of you," and "widen your stance. And stay on your line like I told you, and your chin down."
