Agent Tim Maguire was a S.H.I.E.L.D. technician stationed at the aircraft carrier Iliad at the beginning of the HYDRA Uprising.

HYDRA Uprising[]

Tim Maguire was assigned by S.H.I.E.L.D. to work on board the Iliad, together with Alphonso Mackenzie. During the HYDRA Uprising he and Mackenzie were attacked by undercover HYDRA operatives; Maguire was shot in the arm. Maguire, Mackenzie, and other S.H.I.E.L.D. agents were held hostage by HYDRA; Maguire complained that he could no longer feel his injured arm. Eventually, the Lead HYDRA Agent asked who the head engineer on the ship was.
Knowing that Mackenzie was the head engineer, Maguire lied and claimed to be him in an attempt to protect his friend. Mackenzie quickly came to his friend's defense and told the HYDRA Agent that Maguire was lying. Without hesitating, the HYDRA Agent shot Maguire twice in the chest, killing him, as he claimed he did not like liars.
Mackenzie was able to close Maguire's eyes once Bobbi Morse and Isabelle Hartley killed the HYDRA operatives and their leader. He then took Maguire's S.H.I.E.L.D. ID card and placed it in his pocket.[2]
