"Don't say I never gave you anything."
Clairvoyant to Deathlok[src]

The Forearm Rocket Launcher is a weapon developed by Cybertek as part of Project Deathlok, to be installed on their soldiers' forearms.

History[]

Gift from the Clairvoyant[]

ForearmRocketLauncherTakenOutOfBox

Clairvoyant sends Deathlok his upgrades

In order for him to be ready to go on his next mission, Deathlok received a package which the Clairvoyant just sent to him from Cybertek. Having used his Backscatter X-Ray Eye Implant to see that the package was outside his door, Deathlok had stepped out of his room, checking that there was nobody watching, before he collected the box. Once he was alone, Deathlok had then pulled out the rocket launcher attachment from Cybertek, which Deathlok had then placed onto his left forearm, as was instructed by the Clairvoyant.

The Rocket Launcher attaches to Deathlok

Much like his experience having the Cybertek Prosthetic Leg attached to his missing leg, Deathlok suffered from some strong pain as the Rocket Launcher attached to all his other cybernetic implants. Once the rocket launcher had now been fully installed on his forearm, Deathlok had then checked his HUD displays, which noted that he was now weapons ready, before he had received a message from the Clairvoyant, telling him that S.H.I.E.L.D. were getting close to tracking him down, and that it was time for him and Deathlok to meet, as Deathlok's eye glowed red.[1]

Confrontation at Tranquility Bridge[]

"Mr. Peterson was waiting for you and Blake at the facility. Why?"
"Probably the same reason he came after Garrett, we're getting too close, he's trying to take us out."
Phil Coulson to Grant Ward[src]

Having been sent to Tranquility Bridge to distract the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents who had been sent into there, Deathlok had first crippled Felix Blake by crushing his spine with his Cybertek Prosthetic Leg, before he was then shot at by Melinda May.Deathlok then armed his Rocket Launcher, taking careful aim at May with his Backscatter X-Ray Eye Implant, before firing a missile at May, which she was barely able to avoid, as the wall beside her was destroyed, while Deathlok covered the rocket launcher with his sleeve and escaped.[1]

Battle at the Florida Race Track[]

"Contact! Take cover!"
Grant Ward to STRIKE[src]

As part of a plan to led S.H.I.E.L.D. to Thomas Nash, who was intended to be used as a fake Clairvoyant, and would also be killed, Deathlok had led S.H.I.E.L.D. to an abandoned race track in Pensacola, Florida, where Nash was located. As the agents stormed the building, Deathlok had waited for Grant Ward's team to come in view, before firing a missile at them, which Ward avoided, while several agents were killed. Deathlok then escaped, while the Clairvoyant's plan continued.[1]

Kidnapping of Skye[]

HardDriveHack

"What did you do to him?"
"Stopped his heart."
"His heart..."
"Isn't beating. He's having a heart attack."
Skye and Deathlok[src]

Having just successfully captured Skye, who they needed information from, Deathlok and Grant Ward had brought her back on board the Bus, where Deathlok left Ward to interrogate her alone. While Ward and Skye were alone, Deathlok took the Hard Drive that contained all of the information that Coulson's Team had been collected, which he plugged into his Rocket Launcher and tricked to break Skye's protective code, only to fail at his, as the frustrated Deathlok unplugged it.

Having failed to learn the code to unlock the Hard Drive they needed to access, Deathlok had then received more orders from John Garrett on his Backscatter X-Ray Eye Implant, telling him that Garrett was done waiting, and that they should move onto Plan B. Believing he knew how to make Skye break. Deathlok had then proceeded to shoot Ward with the Heart Stopper from his Rocket Launcher, forcing Skye to watch Ward go into cardiac arrest. Eventually, Skye gave up all the information and Deathlok restarted Ward's heart, using the rocket launcher's controls.

However, during this interrogation, Phil Coulson had managed to sneak on board the Bus through the landing gears, in order for him to free Skye, although he was forced to flee without retaking control of the plane, since he knew he could not confront Deathlok and Ward. Deathlok was alerted to the cargo doors being opened on the Bus, as he and Ward had discovered Coulson and Skye getting inside of L.O.L.A., with Coulson firing L.O.L.A.'s guns to defend them. As Coulson drove L.O.L.A. off the Bus, Deathlok fired a missile at the car, which had barely missed the agents.[2]

Battle at Cybertek[]

"You can't do this, Mike. I order you to stand down! You must obey me! You need me to translate the Words of Creation. You don't want to do this, Mike. Tell him, Phil!"
"Mr. Peterson's free to do whatever he wants."
John Garrett and Phil Coulson[src]

As Deathlok had acted as John Garrett's personal bodyguard while they were at the Cybertek Manufacturing Facility, he was ordered to aim his Forearm Rocket Launcher at Phil Coulson and Nick Fury, who had attacked the Facility in an attempt to stop the plan to create an army of Deathlok Soldiers. However, during the standoff, Deathlok received a message on his Backscatter X-Ray Eye Implant, which he realized must be coming from Ace Peterson, confirming he was free.

The moment that he had realized that his son was safe, Deathlok turned his Forearm Rocket Launcher around, and shot Garrett directly into the chest, causing an explosion that mortally wounding Garrett and threw him across the room, with chest burning from the shot. Deathlok had then walked over to the injured Garrett, who begged Coulson and Fury to intervene, before Deathlok used his Cybertek Prosthetic Leg to crush Garrett's skull, seemingly killing him. With his son safe and Garrett defeated, Deathlok then left, taking the technology he had with him.[3]

John Garrett's Upgrades[]

"There's a reason why they say 'cut off the head'. Now I'll be unstop–"
John Garrett[src]

Despite him sustaining near fatal injuries, John Garrett then dragged his broken body to the Project Deathlok Installer, determined to become the first complete Deathlok Soldier. Garrett screamed in agony, as cybernetic implants were attached, including two Forearm Rocket Launchers and Cybernetic Legs, equipped over Garrett's damaged legs. However, before he could leave, Phil Coulson shot Garrett with the Peruvian 0-8-4, destroying him and the technology.[3]

Ambush at the Retreat[]

"You might have mentioned that backup was a lethal cyborg."
"Truthfully, I just wanted to see the look on your face when he showed up – priceless."
Lance Hunter and Phil Coulson[src]

In order to receive upgrades to his weaponry, Deathlok had then rejoined S.H.I.E.L.D.; which one of these upgrades going into his rocket launchers, now equipped with EMP missiles powerful enough to take down a Quinjet. When Deathlok had been contacted by Phil Coulson and Lance Hunter, he arrived to help rescue them for Robert Gonzales' agents. Having subdued the men who were holding Coulson and Hunter, Deathlok had then immediately downed one of Gonzales' Quinjets with an EMP missile which had been fired from his Forearm Rocket Launcher.[4]

Meeting with Doctor List[]

"They got a cyborg on board with rockets in his arm."
"He's not a cyborg - he's a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent... with rockets in his arm."
Grant Ward and Phil Coulson[src]

With Phil Coulson giving him new orders, Deathlok was then sent onto his mission alongside Sunil Bakshi to infiltrate HYDRA, so that they could get to Baron Strucker. However, when he heard that Bakshi intended to give him over to List for experimentation, as Grant Ward had given this order. Deathlok rearmed his Rocket Launchers to fight back. However, Deathlok then received orders from Coulson on his Backscatter X-Ray Eye Implant, telling him to stand down, which Deathlok reluctantly agreed to.[5]

Captured by HYDRA[]

ForearmRocketLauncherDisabled

Deathlok confirming his arm was disabled

"Use one of those weapons and get us out of here."
"Right, because I didn't think of that."
"At least your sarcasm still works."
"They disabled the arm, it's dead."
Lincoln Campbell and Deathlok[src]

Having been betrayed and captured by List's soldiers, Deathlok was then taken into HYDRA's Research Facility within the Arctic, alongside Lincoln Campbell. Immediately seeking a way to escape, Deathlok soon discovered that all his Rocket Launchers had been disabled by List's scientists. He was then unable to defend himself, as List took him away for experimentation, also removing his Backscatter X-Ray Eye Implant and Cybertek Prosthetic Leg during all of these operations.[6]

Closing the Fear Dimension[]

"So, you'e full cyborg? Or?.."
"Yeah."
"Cool."
Deke Shaw and Deathlok[src]

When Deathlok had been found and recruited by Deke Shaw, he agreed to assist S.H.I.E.L.D. once again, as he and a team of other loyal S.H.I.E.L.D. agents had then arrived at the Lighthouse, where he found Phil Coulson was attempting to close a rift into the Fear Dimension, and was speaking with the recreation of Deathlok, who was still blocking his path. Upon arriving, Deathlok had immediately shot the recreation if himself with his Rocket Launcher, before instructing Coulson to continue with the mission.

Deathlok vs Lash TRD

However, this caused more protectors of the Fear Dimension to appear, as Deathlok charged into battle, leaping over the recreation of Lash and shooting a rocket into its chest, destroying it. With Coulson attempting to activate the Gravity Containment Device in order to close the rife, Deathlok witnessed recreations of the Vrellnexians crawling across the walls, as Deathlok fired another rocket at these enemies, while Coulson had also shot at them with his gun, before activating the device in order to finally close the rift and stop the recreations from coming.

As the Rift was being closed, Deathlok and Coulson found themselves being dragged into it, as Deathlok held back Coulson. However, the pair were then attacked by the recreation of Hive, only for Deathlok to swing Coulson around, allowing him to punch Hive in the face, as Deathlok armed his Forearm Rocket Launcher, firing a missile directly into the face of Hive. With the Rift was finally closed, as Deathlok and Coulson relaxed. Following the mission, Deathlok chose not to remain with S.H.I.E.L.D. and instead returned to his independent work.[7]
