Hovat was the wife of Drax the Destroyer and mother of Kamaria.


Meeting Drax

Hovat went to a war rally where she would later discover Drax, who she would eventually fall in love with and marry. When everyone began to dance, Hovat refused to dance and wouldn't move a muscle giving off the assumption that she could of been dead. Drax knew that she was the one for him and the two got married and have a daughter named Kamaria.[1]

Killed by Ronan

"I was mistaken. I do remember your family. Their screams were pitiful and..."

Hovat was murdered by Ronan the Accuser along with her daughter Kamaria causing Drax the Destroyer to seek vengeance and go on a killing spree. During the Battle of Xandar, Ronan told Drax that her screams were pitiful.[2]

Hovat is said to never dance no matter what song was playing and wouldn't move a muscle giving the impression that she was dead.


  • In the comics, Drax's wife's name is Yvette Steckley Douglas and she is killed by Thanos.
