"What is S.H.I.E.L.D.'s purpose if it's not protecting us from the Inhumans? Why are human lives not S.H.I.E.L.D.'s priority?"
Ellen Nadeer[src]

The Humans First Movement is an anti-Inhumans political party. It was led by United States Senator Ellen Nadeer until her death.

History[]

"Many of you are familiar with Senator Ellen Nadeer. She's head of the Finance Committee and outspoken advocate of the so-called Humans First Movement."
George Stephanopoulos[src]

Due to the Inhuman Outbreak, the number of Inhumans rapidly increased. People grew distrustful towards Inhumans as they feared their powers, and upon learning that S.H.I.E.L.D., who had returned as an official organization, was directed by Jeffrey Mace, a supposed Inhuman, people feared that the rights of the Inhumans could prevail over the regular humans. In this context, the Human First Movement, spearheaded by the anti-Inhumans Senator Ellen Nadeer was created, with the purpose of limiting the influence of Inhumans within American society.[1]

The Humans First Movement lost one of his most prominent leaders when Nadeer was killed in the explosion of her office, though this did not weaken the mobilization against Inhumans.[2]
