The Mastermind to Alex Mind[src]

Infiltrating the Set is the first episode of the web series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Double Agent.

Synopsis

A double agent infiltrates the set of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Working for a shadowy figure known only as The Mastermind, he encounters series regular Ming-Na Wen (Agent May) and show co-creator Jed Whedon as he works to stay ahead of Marvel Security and uncover secrets of the show.

Plot

The double agent drives as he informs The Mastermind that his cover has been blown, he is being tailed and the mission is compromised.

One month earlier, the double agent is given an assignment by the Mastermind: infiltrate the production set of the television show, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and get the latest info on its plot and surprises it might have for its viewers. Mastermind gives the double agent a fake identity as Alex Mind, a rookie production assistant just hired to the ABC studios.

On his first day on the job, the double agent is issued a S.H.I.E.L.D. Lanyard by a security guard, allowing him access to the production studio. The guard warns him not to use phones or any kind of social media on the premises. Mind is then told to report to Stage B, where he encounters Ming-Na Wen, who introduces herself. Wen decides that she needs help with her daily routine and invites Mind to help. She exercises, using Mind as a punching bag and having him stand in yoga positions with her. When her towel boy arrives to give Wen a fresh towel, Mind runs away.

Inside the set of the Playground, a stage hand tells Mind to find Jed Whedon, as he is needed at rehearsal. Mind finds Whedon writing on his laptop in the Director's office and informs him that they are ready for him in rehearsal. Mind attempts to look over Whedon's shoulder to read his work, but Whedon sees him, closed his laptop, and leaves. Mind looks around; he finds a file. Opening the file, he finds a picture and storyboards.

The security guard who issued Mind his lanyard seeks the new employee; however, Mind hides from him and sends photos of the file's contents to the Mastermind.
