The subject of this article is related to a planned Marvel Cinematic Universe product that was ultimately canceled.

Inhumans was a planned superhero film, based on the Marvel Comics race of the same name. It would have been an installment of Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A television series was announced in place of the film following its cancellation.

Production[]

In 2011, Marvel Studios began developing a film adaptation of the Inhumans. On August 12, 2014, it was announced Marvel will be moving forward with the project.

On October 28, 2014, in a Marvel live event, Kevin Feige had a Questions & Answers session where the release date of the film was announced. He also promised that "Easter eggs" would be released within the MCU prior to the movie.

In the wake of Spider-Man: Homecoming joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as part of a deal made by Sony Pictures Studios and Marvel Studios, the release date of Inhumans has been pushed back from its original release date of November 2, 2018 to July 12, 2019.

After Walt Disney Company announced a new Indiana Jones movie will be released around the same time of Inhumans, Kevin Feige suggested that the date of release will likely be delayed.[1]

On April 22, 2016, Disney removed the picture from its production schedule leaving the film without a release date.[2]

On July 27, 2016, Comicbook.com gave a report citing how Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. had more room to operate with its Inhuman characters.

On November 11, 2016, screenrant.com gave a report in which Kevin Feige says that it could happen as a movie in Phase Four.[3]
