Kid Colt is a 1940s American comic book featuring the adventures of an Old West American cowboy.
History
The comic book entitled Kid Colt was created to depict the real life adventures of the cowboy Kid Colt. Howard Stark decided to create the film studio Stark Pictures and chose to make a motion picture about the cowboy Kid Colt; he used the comic Kid Colt as a reference guide for his film.
When Peggy Carter questioned the wisdom of using a comic book to make a motion picture, Stark explained that Kid Colt was a real person and the comic book was really a historical text with drawn pictures. If audiences were not ready for such an idea, he would write off the expense at tax season.[1]
