Laura Hayward is a student at the University of Ohio and the sister of Centipede soldier Brian Hayward.

While trying to locate her brother, Brian, S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents Phil Coulson and Grant Ward approached Laura Hayward to figure out her knowledge of Brian's location.
Ward posed as a member of the Ohio state gaming commission to approach Hayward and ask about Brian. Not believing the story, Hayward lied and told him that she had not had any contact with her brother since he returned from Afghanistan due to a lack of close connection between the two.
Ward left, and Hayward called her brother to inform about the story, which she scoffed with Brian at, agreeing that the Hayward siblings luck was not that great. This alerted Brian that someone was trying to locate him.[1]
