"You're our responsibility. We have got to stop you."
―Louise Thompson to Kilgrave[src]

Louise Thompson was a scientist who experimented on her son Kevin, along with her husband Albert in order to save him from his degenerative brain disease. However, due to the powers that Kevin developed, Louise was forced to horribly scar her own face, and the Thompsons abandoned and went into hiding from their son for decades. As Kevin resurfaced on New York City, Louise adopted the guise of Betty to join the Kilgrave Victim Support Group. The Thompsons were reunited with their son, who soon murdered his own mother in revenge for years of torture.

Biography[]

Raising a Child[]

"Kevin, please, we need to see if your fine motor skills have improved."
―Louise Thompson to Kevin Thompson[src]

Louise Thompson and her husband Albert had a son named Kevin Thompson. Instead of raising their child, they instead focused their efforts on experimenting on him, performing experiments which included Neurological exams, fluoroscopy, brain biopsies, and cerebral spinal fluid extractions. The experiments gave Kevin the power to control people's will and so he put his parents under his control. When Kevin forced Louise to burn her face with an iron, she and her husband escaped and left their son alone, allowing him to grow up to be a cruel and selfish man with the new name Kilgrave.[1]

Kilgrave Victim Support Group[]

Louise went by "Betty" as she attended the support group as an observer. She listened to Donald and Malcolm Ducasse's stories of what Kilgrave did to them.[4][5] One day, Jessica Jones confronted her in front of the rest and she fled the scene. She attempted to flee once more with the aid of her husband before once again being stopped by Jones. To her surprise, their experiments turned out to be an attempt to cure Kilgrave's degenerative neural disease, his only hope was an experimental study to repair his damaged DNA.[1]

Louise kills herself

Louise and Albert Thompson were brought to a facility by Jessica Jones. Louise and Albert approached the glass holding their son, Kevin Thompson. Jones let them in and said that if they are in trouble, she'll push a button that would electrocute Kilgrave. Albert brought up that they had to leave, but Kevin argued that he was just a kid. After mote arguing, Louise profusely apologized. She hugged Kevin, to which he returned it. She them said that he was her responsibility. She then took some scissors out of her pocket and stabbed Kilgrave in the neck. Her son angrily yelled at her and then told Louise to pick up the scissors, to which Louise followed. He then told her to flip it towards herself. Knowing there was evidence of mind control on video, Jones hit the button, but it didn't work. Kilgrave then told Louise to stab herself. Louise stabbed herself repeatedly in the chest until she died.[1]
