The Overpowering Tape is a device used by S.H.I.E.L.D. to restrain criminals as an alternative to handcuffs.
History
Rescue in the Colombian Police Station
Elena Rodriguez was supplied with these devices by Agent Daisy Johnson and used them to restrain numerous officers of the National Police of Colombia without harming them.
Rodriguez later used an Overpowering Tape to restrain Lucio; however, he managed to paralyze her and make her snap back into a wall.[1]
Hijacking and Retaking of Zephyr One
During the mission to retake Zephyr One and rescue the rest of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, Rodriguez used the Overpowering Tape again in combination with her superhuman speed to restrain and take out multiple HYDRA operatives at the Schoonebeek Oil Field.
The Overpowering Tape was also used by Lincoln Campbell to subdue Gideon Malick.[2]
