"Who knows what kind of weapon they stole from the energy lab in Pasadena?"

The Pasadena Momentum Laboratory was one of the three facilities belonging to the company Momentum Labs. It was also the workplace of Eli Morrow and remained abandoned for years following the dismantlement of Joseph Bauer's team of scientists.

Lucy Bauer tells Eli Morrow about the Darkhold

Joseph Bauer's team of scientists, comprising of his wife Lucy Bauer and his colleagues Eli Morrow, Frederick, Vincent and Hugo, used to work in the Pasadena Momentum Laboratory. Once they found the Darkhold, Joseph and Lucy succesfully created a Quantum Battery they used to seemingly create matter out of nothing. The whole team celebrated the first experiment's success in the lab, although Morrow felt that something was not right with their results.

Joseph kept working with the Darkhold, forbidding anyone else to take a look at it. He changed the specs of the laboratory's equipment and ultimately built a Quantum Particle Generator to gain matter creation abilities. As Morrow wanted to assist him, Joseph abruptly sent him away and Morrow voiced his concerns to Lucy about Joseph's sanity.

In the end, Morrow grew his own desire to acquire superhuman abilities. He seemingly murdered all of his colleagues, except for Joseph, by forcing them to enter the Quantum Particle Generator. This resulted in the employees to be trapped in a transdimensional state within the Quantum Batteries powering the generator, where they would remain for years.

Following Joseph's coma and Morrow's arrest as the latter had severely injured the former in an attempt to find the Darkhold, and with the rest of the team apparently deceased, the Pasadena Momentum Laboratory was left abandoned for years.[1]

Years later, Lucy Bauer was released from her Quantum Battery when it was opened by the Chinatown Crew.[2] She returned to the now abandoned Pasadena Momentum Laboratory where she released her colleagues Frederick, Vincent and Hugo, requesting their help to find the Darkhold and reverse their transdimensional condition. Although Vincent and Hugo agreed to come with her, Frederick refused and decided that he would remain in the lab and completely destroy it.

However, S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents Leo Fitz and Alphonso Mackenzie had connected the Quantum Battery they had reclaimed to the Pasadena Momentum Laboratory and had come to the lab to investigate. They found the Quantum Particle Generator built by Joseph Bauer, but they also encountered Frederick, who had triggered the reactor's meltdown to obliterate the lab.

Frederick locked Mackenzie in the laboratory's generator and almost infected Fitz with a demon psychosis, but Fitz was ultimately saved by the Ghost Rider, who burnt down Frederick. Meanwhile, Quake, who had followed the Ghost Rider, released Mackenzie from the generator. This enabled Fitz to safely avert the destruction of the lab. Ghost Rider found a picture of the former Momentum Labs team, including his uncle Eli Morrow, and left the laboratory. Fitz, Mackenzie and Quake did the same seconds later.[3]

S.H.I.E.L.D. left agents in the Pasadena Momentum Laboratory to watch the facility.[1]. However, they were murdered by Bauer, who had kidnapped Morrow in the South Ridge Penitentiary and taken him back to the Pasadena Momentum Laboratory. There, she forced Morrow to read the Darkhold, which she was unable to do herself, so he could help her to built a new Quantum Particle Generator to reverse her condition.[4]

To that end, Bauer and Morrow transferred some of the equipment from the Pasadena Momentum Laboratory to the Roxxon Power Plant. Later, S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Melinda May came to investigate the lab. She found the deceased S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and Fitz, accessing May's Mapping-Action Eyewear, noticed that some of the lab's equipment was missing.[1]
