Ridley arrives at the precinct

Ridley arrived at the precinct as just Cottonmouth was released from jail. She took off her gloves and looked across the street to see Luke Cage looking on. With Cottonmouth's failed arrest and Rafael Scarfe's events, Ridley stepped in as inspector. She greeted Misty Knight. She pushed for answers on Luke Cage's vigilantism and threatened her career. She met with Knight later and found that Knight recovered an anonymous tip: many guns from Cage's raids.[1]

A day later, Ridley and Knight found out that Cottonmouth was murdered. After evidence was gathered, Ridley walked in on Knight arguing with Mariah Dillard. She consoled Dillard and hugged her before letting her go. Ridley told Knight that they have a witness saying it was Luke Cage's doing, but Knight doesn't believe it. They had an argument, but Ridley forced her to look into Cage.[2]

Knight's Temper[]

Ridley barged in on an interrogation where Misty Knight got heated at Claire Temple and attacked her. Ridley had to let Temple go. She made Knight go into questioning where she witnessed Knight breaking down over how she froze when Diamondback threatened her. Ridley then met with Knight and placed her badge on the table. Ridley claimed Knight didn't deserve to protect the people of New York. She then told Knight to focus on Cage. Knight claimed reason is the only thing that will work to catch Cage and it has to come from someone he trusts. Ridley laughed, gave Knight her gun and badge, and told her to go get him.[3]

Tracking Cage[]

In the next few days, Luke Cage killed officer Jackie Albini. The sergeant, Jake Smith, was understandably heated and wanted Cage gone. Ridley had to calm him down. Smith wanted her to find Cage. Ridley looked, but found nothing directly confirming Cage's involvement. Suddenly, she heard yelling and rushed in to find Detective Dorsey attacking the person he was interrogating, a teenager, Lonnie Wilson. She then had to deal with Patricia Wilson's anger. She assured her that Dorsey was arrested and suspended. Mariah Dillard, who was helping Wilson, called for Ridley to do more.

Afterwards, Ridley continued to deal with Dillard's outcry for a rally at Harlem's Paradise. Misty Knight came in, telling her that Cage didn't kill Cottonmouth because Dillard would be too afraid to step into Harlem's Paradise if the death it came as a shock to her. She also claimed it was Willis Stryker who killed Albini. Ridley didn't know who that was.[4]

Hostage Situation[]

Suddenly, there was a hostage situation in Harlem's Paradise. Reports claimed it was Luke Cage. Ridley watched as Thembi Wallace reported it. She told her men to find Knight, who was in the building. An officer told Ridley they were going in, but Ridley ordered them not to as Knight is still in there. She then got a call from Smith. Later, she got a call from Damon Boone inside the building. Boone told her to stay away and Cage is taking everyone hostage. The phone then hung up. She got a call from Knight on the inside, but the call was too distorted to make out.

Ridley still didn't want to go in. She then was approached by Blake Tower from the DA office to help. Ridley wasn't having it because there was nothing more he could do. Tower argued he could use a gun, but Ridley said it wasn't his MO. She got a call from Dillard who told her about a Judas Bullet that could kill Cage. She then got a call from Boone, who told her Cage wants helicopters on the roof. She asked if Knight was alive and he said yes. Tower cautioned against listening to Dillard because neither of them trust her. Suddenly, hostages started coming out of the doors. Later, another hostage came out, it was Boone. However, Boone was dead, his chest was caved in. Ridley ordered her men to go in. However, she told the men that it might not be Cage. Cage was finally arrested when the men went in. She told Tower it was good that they didn't have to use the bullets. Knight was carted out, having been shot. She told Ridley that Cage was innocent, Ridley told her she will keep that in mind.[5]

Luke Cage's Revelation[]

Ridley found Misty Knight looking at the prisoner, Shades. She told Knight she should be in bed, but Knight told her not until she proves Luke Cage was innocent and it was Diamondback. Knight asked to take a crack at Shades, but Ridley told her to go home and get rest. Afterwards, she tried to interrogate Shades, who kept saying "lawyer", implying that he won't speak until he gets a lawyer. Ridley told him he could face 25 years to life, then Shades decided to tell. Shades then said he'll talk, the man who held everyone hostage goes by the name "lawyer". Ridley almost attacked him, but held back and left as Shades laughed. Suddenly Kerry Duggan arrived as Shades lawyer. Duggan easily got Shades to walk free.[6]

Following the defeat of Diamondback, Ridley met with Cage. She talked to Knight, who ensured Cage was no longer a suspect. They also talked about Mariah Dillard, who was arrested for the murder of Cottonmouth. She interrogated Dillard, who gave her retelling of the events. Knight came in and told Dillard to tell the truth. Knight then retold what she believed actually happened and then played a part of Candace Miller's testimony. Knight was interrupted by Mark Bailey who told her some news. Knight then stormed back in and nearly attacked Dillard, claiming that she killed Miller. Dillard said she was out of control and left. Ridley then scolded Knight for almost attacking another person. Knight told her that the system is rigged and Ridley said that no matter what, they can't get past it. Knight should've brought Miller to her and she should've trusted Ridley. Suddenly, officials from Georgia arrived saying that Cage has to serve the rest of the time in jail after he broke free from Seagate Penitentiary. Ridley tried to fight it, but was unable to. She then apologized to Cage before he was taken away.[7]

Promotion[]

Ridley was made deputy chief and transferred to One Police Plaza. Tom Ridenhour replaced Ridley at the precinct.[8]

Returning to the 29th[]

"Deputy Chief. Your new job looks good on you."
"Yeah, well, I've been better."
Misty Knight and Priscilla Ridley[src]

Following Tom Ridenhour's death, Ridley returned to the precinct and became the leader. She found Misty Knight and the two talked about Mariah Dillard who wanted immunity in exchange for information on Bushmaster. Ridley did not like it, but agreed to it as Bushmaster was more important. Ridley stood outside Harlem's Paradise until she got a call from Knight saying the deal was signed. She then marched into the building with an arrest warrant for Bushmaster, only to find that he was gone.[9]

Promoting Misty Knight[]

"Once I return to One Police Plaza, this precinct will need a new commander. I think it should be you."
"But I'm just a detective."
"Detective first grade. Best I've ever seen."
―Priscilla Ridley and Misty Knight[src]

Ridley was approached by Misty Knight following Bushmaster's escape. Knight believed that someone in the precinct sold out Mariah Dillard's location as the only people who knew were her and Ridley. They checked the logs and found that Nandi Tyler used her key card to get into the other side of the interrogation room while they were talking about the location. Ridley broke the news to Mark Bailey, who did not believe it and wanted her to explain. Ridley agreed. They found Tyler and arrested her. Knight interrogated Tyler to let her explain. Tyler ended up going to jail. Ridley was impressed at how Knight handled the situation and offered her the job as commander of the precinct for when she returns to One Police Plaza.[10] Following the Rum Punch Massacre, Karen Page sent out a quote saying there was a survivor. Ridley told Knight the news.[11]

Hernan Alvarez's Deal[]

"We risk never being able to prosecute Mr. Alvarez on any of the crimes that he discloses to us. Including capital crimes."
"With his cooperation, we can finally get Mariah in handcuffs. We could get closure on Candace Miller. And we get to the bottom of who killed Ridenhour. It's worth it, Priscilla."
―Priscilla Ridley and Misty Knight[src]

Shades came to Misty Knight and told her he wanted Mariah Dillard out. He was willing to confess to everything if it meant full immunity. Ridley was opposed to the idea, but was willing to do it after Knight convinced her, saying that they could get closure on Candace Miller as well as Tom Ridenhour on top of arresting Mariah Dillard. Afterwards, they had Shades get a gun from Dillard that would prove himself. At Harlem's Paradise, there was a battle that ended in Bushmaster getting away. Ridley walked in and arrested Dillard when Shades got the gun.[12]

Dillard was put in jail after her trial, but the crime rate skyrocketed. Eventually, many of the Stokes Crime Family started getting murdered at the hands of Dillard's paid hit men. Ridley interrupted Knight's deep thought in her investigation. Dillard was soon killed by poison and Luke Cage became the new mob boss of Harlem with the purpose of decreasing crime under his supervision.[13]

Task Force[]

"First of all, I got us a task force."
"You got Pike to play ball?"
"Oh, I went over Pike's head to Deputy Chief Ridley."
Misty Knight and Colleen Wing[src]

Having failed with requesting a task force from William Pike, Misty Knight went over his head and appealed to Ridley. She agreed and gave her special group of NYPD officers in order to capture Davos.[14]

Personality[]

"Your work ethic, your determination to do right by Harlem, it should be rewarded. Especially seeing how my tenure here is temporary."
"I'm sorry, Priscilla. What is it exactly you're getting at?"
"Harlem deserves a legitimate champion, not just a vigilante."
―Priscilla Ridley and Misty Knight[src]
