Punisher

A collection of quotes of the ruthless vigilante Frank Castle also known as the Punisher.

Daredevil

Episode 2.01: Bang

Spoken by Frank Castle

"Bang."
―Punisher[src]

Spoken about Frank Castle

"Downtown office thinks we got a new player in Hell's Kitchen."
"What do they want?"
"D.A.'s office says the shooter's independent."
Brett Mahoney and Matt Murdock[src]
"Tell me who they are."
"No "they". Him. It's one man."
Daredevil and the last survivor of Mexican Cartel[src]

Episode 2.02: Dogs to a Gunfight

Spoken about Frank Castle

"And all of these people were were killed by the same man?"
"He's tracking gangs to their home turf and taking them out with military precision. But it doesn't stop there."
"What do you mean, "doesn't stop"?"
"His targets aren't random, Mr. Grote. He knows exactly who he wants to hit."
Karen Page, Blake Tower, Grotto and Samantha Reyes[src]
"It's an ongoing investigation. But our intelligence people are close to completing a profile."
"A profile?"
"Even got a code name."
"Like what? "Killdozer," or "Dumbass With A Gun"?"
"Not quite. They're calling this one... "the Punisher.""
Blake Tower and Foggy Nelson[src]
"You think, uh you think he's crazy?"
"Uh, the Punisher? No. I think he was inevitable."
"Inevitable? How so?"
"Maybe... maybe we created him. All of us. The moment that we let Daredevil, or the Devil of Hell's Kitchen, or whatever it is-"
"There's... there's no connection."
"Well, actually, I think it's a pretty straight line, Matt. Daredevil practiced vigilante justice in our backyard and we applauded him for it. I know that I did. And we never stopped to think that maybe... his actions could open the door for men like this. Men men with guns. Men who think that the law belongs to them."
Matt Murdock and Karen Page[src]
"How much longer before innocent people start getting caught in his cross-fire?"
Matt Murdock to Melvin Potter[src]

Episode 2.03: New York's Finest

Spoken by Frank Castle

"They say you don't hear the bullet that gets you. Always thought that sounded like a bunch of bullshit to me. How about you, Red? When I cracked off your forehead the other night did you hear that?"
―Punisher to Daredevil[src]
"You know what I think of you, hero? I think you're a half-measure. I think you're a man who can't finish the job. I think that you're a coward."
―Punisher to Daredevil[src]
"You know, you're one bad day away from being me."
―Punisher to Daredevil[src]
"I need to take care of the scum that killed my family."
―Punisher to Daredevil[src]

Dialogue

"Why didn't you take my mask off?"
"Don't give a shit about who you are."
"You killed everyone else. Why am I still alive? Huh? I got in your way twice now... and you don't strike me as someone who just lets that happen."
Daredevil and Punisher[src]
"Military grade hardware. You seem to know your way around it. And you sure carry yourself like a soldier. What are you gonna do with all this?"
"I'll do what's required."
Daredevil and Punisher[src]
"I'm guessing you've done this, what ten, maybe 20 times? How long's it been? Six months, a year or your whole life? Something tells me you don't take breaks. You know, no one else has to die. You could stop now. Walk away."
"Walk away? Could you do that? Could you walk away?"
Daredevil and Punisher[src]
"Where'd they send you?"
"You a shrink, Red? Now, come on, you must be something when you're not wearing the long johns, right?"
"I'm just a guy."
"Yeah? You ever been to war?"
"No."
"Yeah then don't talk about it."
Daredevil and Punisher[src]
"You know it can be hard? You run around this city in a pair of little boy's pajamas and a mask. You go home at night, right? Take that mask off, maybe you think it wasn't you who did those things, maybe it was somebody else. Well, see, soldiers we don't wear masks, yeah? We don't get that privilege."
"You know what I think?"
"What's that?"
"You're still at war."
"Oh, for crying out loud."
―Punisher and Daredevil[src]
"Why am I here?"
"Everything you do out there in the streets, Red, it doesn't work. Did you know that?"
"Oh, and what you're doing is better?"
"What I do, I just do. It's out of necessity."
"Come on. You know you're not the only one, right? Who did you lose? Huh? Was it someone you loved? Well, boo-hoo. Let me tell you something, buddy. Everybody's lost someone. Doesn't mean you have to do this."
"Well, loss doesn't work the same for everybody, Red."
"Yeah, that's right. It's clearly not working for you."
"Maybe not. We don't get to pick the things that fix us, Red. Make us whole. Make us feel purpose. My moment of clarity? It came from the strangest of places. What kind of name is The Devil of Hell's Kitchen, anyway? I mean, really?"
"I didn't ask for that name."
"I'm sorry, I don't see you running from it."
"I don't do this to hurt people."
"Yeah, so what is that, just a job perk?"
"I don't kill anyone."
"Is that why you think you're better than me?"
"No."
"Is that why you think you're a big hero?"
"It doesn't matter what I think or what I am. People don't have to die."
"Come on, Red. You believe that?"
"I believe it's not my call, and it ain't yours either."
Daredevil and Punisher[src]
"I'm not a bad guy, Red."
"You wanna explain that to the orphans and the widows of the men you killed?"
"For Christ's sake, that's what you think? I'm just some crazy asshole going around unloading on whoever I want to?"
"Yeah, that's exactly what I think."
"That it?"
"You think you're anything else?"
"I think that the people I kill need killing, that's what I think."
"You left men hanging from meat hooks!"
"They got off easy, in my opinion."
"You shot up a hospital."
"Yeah, and nobody got hurt who didn't deserve it."
"Oh, yeah. What about you, Frank? What happens the day someone decides you deserve it?"
"I'll tell you what, they better not miss."
"Come on, you run around this city like it's your damn shooting gallery."
"Yeah, what do you do? What do you do? You act like it's a playground. You beat up the bullies with your fists. You throw 'em in jail, everybody calls you a hero, right? And then a month, a week, a day later, they're back on the streets doing the same goddamn thing!"
"Yeah, so you just put 'em in the morgue."
"You're goddamn right, I do."
"You ever doubt yourself, Frank?"
"Not even for a second."
"Really? Really? You never think for one second, "Shit, I just killed a human being"."
"That's being pretty generous."
"A human being who did a lot of stupid shit, maybe even evil, but had one small piece of goodness in him. Maybe just a scrap, Frank, but something. And then you come along, and that one tiny flicker of light gets snuffed out forever."
―Punisher and Daredevil[src]
"Look around, Red. This city, it stinks. It's a sewer. It stinks and it smells like shit and I can't get the stink out of my nose. I think that this world, it needs men who are willing to make the hard call. I think you and me are the same!"
"That's bullshit, Frank, and you know it!"
"Only I do the one thing you can't. You hit'em and they get back up. I hit'em and they stay down!"
Daredevil and Punisher[src]
"You still think this piece of shit is worth saving."
"I'm not gonna shoot him."
"Yeah, okay, I will, if you don't kill me first."
―Punisher and Daredevil[src]
"Take the shot, Red, take the shot."
"No."
"You don't do it, his death's on you. Either way, you're a killer."
"What kind of choice is that?"
"The kind I make every time I pull the trigger. The kind I'm gonna make right now."
―Punisher and Daredevil[src]

Episode 2.04: Penny and Dime

Spoken by Frank Castle

"One batch. Two batch. Penny and Dime."
―Punisher[src]

Spoken about Frank Castle

"You're saying this guy died?"
"Yeah for about a minute. It's crazy but they say it happens sometimes, one minute flat line then boom, his heart starts back up again, on it's own. He just didn't want to die. Within ten minutes of being awake, he reaches up and grabs my scrubs, yanks me down and says, real close, take me home. I shouldn't have done it, I shouldn't have done it, I should have known it would get me fired."
Karen Page and George Bach[src]

Dialogue

"You wanted this."
"No, I counted on it, now I can ask you face to face, who's the guy who did it? Who killed my family?"
"Your family? Who cares?"
Finn Cooley and Punisher[src]
"Don't shoot! We want him alive!"
"Who? Who needs me alive?!"
Rory and Punisher[src]
"Sometimes I think you just might really be the devil."
"Sometimes I think I might be, too."
―Punisher and Daredevil[src]
"It's, uh... One batch, two batch. Penny and Dime, you know. it was her favorite book. You know, you... You gotta cross the ocean... and go fight. You see... whole time you're thinking you're gonna be scared, right? But then, you're not. See, that part of it was always easy for me. Killing. Even watching my buddies die, it just... it didn't mean nothing. The first time I got scared... was on a plane on the way home. I kept thinking God was gonna pull the rug out from under us, you know? Shit, that's his kind of funny, you know. But the plane landed safe and we were home. Driving through traffic. Yeah, you pass fast food and donut shops and all that... that greasy shit. It's the shit you fought to protect and then the car stops. We were outside her school. I get to her classroom, right? She's in there... but she's got no idea. She's got no idea that Daddy's home. I walk in, these kids, they're not even studying , they're... doing some kind of yoga. Yeah. You know? She's there. She's doing her poses, you know. She's bending and, you know, she's moving. She looks like a flower. Yeah. And, you know, you can't even understand it, you know, how does something like that have... How does something that beautiful... How does that... does that come from me, you know? And she looks up and sees me. I see her. By God, That's real. That's real, Red. Boom. In an instant, she's across that classroom floor, she's in my arms. She's squeezing me so tight I swear I was gonna bust a rib, you know? We just stayed there like that, we're holding each other. Teacher, she's filming the whole thing on her phone, you know, she's gonna put it on YouTube or some shit. She can't hold the thing steady, because, you know, she's... she's bawling so hard, and the kids are all wailing, you know, they're all screaming. And me? Shit, I'm the worst of all. I'm a... I'm a rubber-face clown, you know. I cried so hard. But not my baby. Not my girl. You know, she's my girl. She's... She's not crying, she's holding me up. My girl she's keeping me on my feet. She says, "I knew it, Daddy, I knew it." And then we go home. Wife, the boy. Place is the exact same. It's like it was just holding its breath waiting for me to get back, you know? Then it hit me. All of it, you know. The first time I felt how tired I was, you know, I was just... tired, you know? You... You ever been tired, Red?"
"Yeah."
"So, you know. It's just I couldn't do nothing, you know? All the things... I couldn't take my wife to bed. Ball with the boy. Shit... I was too tired, I couldn't even drink a goddamn beer, you know. But not her. My girl was up. See, she wanted me to, uh... she wanted me to tuck her in. She... She outgrew it, she knew it, but she didn't care. She wanted it. She had that book. Her favorite book was out on the pillows.
One batch, two batch. Penny and Dime. Yeah. I read her that book every night before this shit. I read it every single night, but, see, that was over now because Daddy's home now. She looked at me and she begged me, Red. She begged. She begged. I said, "No. Daddy's too tired, see. But I'll... I'll read to you tomorrow night. I'll read to you tomorrow night. I promise." Yeah. Never think that... for her, there was never going to be any tomorrow, see. The last time I'd see her, I'd be holding her lifeless body in my arms. Meat was spilling out of her, Red. The place that her face used to be. Yeah. I think I'm done... Red. I think I'm done."
―Frank Castle and Daredevil[src]

Episode 2.05: Kinbaku

Spoken about Frank Castle

"Can we, uh, talk about these first? The, uh, press is still painting Castle like he's nothing more than some deranged lunatic."
"Well, it's not like our boy was out collecting for the Red Cross."
Karen Page and Foggy Nelson[src]
"Did you know that two years ago, Lieutenant Frank Castle was awarded the Navy Cross for his service in Afghanistan, right? That's second only to the Medal of Honor. This guy is a war hero."
"Military history is the first thing we search whenever there's a mass shooting. So, we know that he was a Marine recruit, and we know that he went in as a kid, but there's no evidence that he actually served."
"I've seen the medal, engraved with Castle's name, next to a photograph of him shaking the secretary's hand."
Karen Page and Mitchell Ellison[src]

"You mean the Punisher? I think he's an animal a sick, twisted, venal..."
"Hero. That's what we should be calling him. Doing the things the cops won't do, Frank Castle is a..."
"A grotesque insult to the Second Amendment, a fascist without the authority. If you ask me, people like Frank Castle ought to be..."
"Applauded for putting all the thieves and muggers and rapists in the morgue, where they belong. Let those bastards feel scared walking down the street for a change."
"It's Son of Sam all over again."
"It's Bernie Goetz..."
"It's like the only thing protecting us is Frank."
"I just moved my family to New York, and now we're moving out. If anyone can kill anyone in this town... where does the insanity end?"
―Members of the jury discussing Frank Castle[src]
"The trial of The People of New York v. Frank Castle is now in session."
―Judge Cynthia Batzer[src]

Episode 2.08: Guilty as Sin

Spoken by Frank Castle

"I ain't crazy! I'm not crazy. Okay? I know what I did. I know who I am. And I do not need your help. I'm smack-dab in the middle of my right goddamn mind, and any scumbag, any- any lowlife, any maggot piece of shit that I put down, I did it because I liked it! Hell, I loved it! I'm sittin' here, I'm I'm just itching. I'm itching to do it again. And you think What, you think you're gonna send me to a nuthouse? Some doctor, they're gonna get me to stop from doing what I want to do? Well, that ain't happening! Not on my watch! You people, you call me the Punisher, ain't that right? The big bad Punisher. Well, here I am! You want it, you got it! I am the Punisher! I'm right here! You want it, I'll give it to you. And anybody who came here today to hear me whine, to hear me beg? Well, you can kiss my ass!"
Frank Castle[src]

Episode 2.09: Seven Minutes in Heaven

Dialogue

"Well I don't help shit-bag has been mob bosses."
"Has been?"
"You heard what I said."
―Frank Castle and Wilson Fisk[src]
"You make any noise, anything at all, I'm gonna open you up like a bag, I'll watch you bleed out all over the floor. Now you nod if you understand me. Okay, state massacre, the carousel hit, I hear you were there."
"What if I was?... You're a goddamn lunatic."
―Punisher and Dutton[src]
"How quickly we turn into savages. As if the moment we walk through these prison doors--"
"You tried to have me killed."
"Yes, it would've been cleaner that way, but you got what you wanted! Given the condition that he was in. I assume that Dutton admitted to some involvement in your tragedy."
"What do you want? Why am I still alive?"
"Because plans change. Because if you want to survive, you adapt. Yes! The plan was to kill you. I needed to close that loop. I'd already made a deal with the rest of the guards. I doubled the cut that Dutton was paying them. But that didn't work out, did it? No, I was wrong. That's difficult to admit, but... you have a gift, Mr. Castle. I assumed that the stories that I read in the paper about your attacks on the criminal world were apocryphal. How could one man be capable of such... violence? But then I saw it... with my own two eyes. And when one comes across someone with such talent... with such a gift... well... you don't let that go to waste."
"No. No, you don't."
Wilson Fisk and Frank Castle[src]
"What the hell is this?"
"I'm in control now. And I've set you free."
"What does that mean, "free"? I'll show you."
"'Cause everyone warned me that prison would be an inhumane environment. It is. But I... I find it refreshing. The perfect microcosm of the animal world. When an animal wants something, when it needs something, other things... need to be stepped on."
"You want me on the outside so I step on every piece of shit I see. That way, nobody gets strong, and we... The city's yours for the taking."
"Something like that. Yeah."
"So if you can do that, if you can get me out, why not just do it yourself?"
"Because I play the long game, Mr. Castle. You see, when I'm finally let out of this cage... it won't be to wage war. It will be to win one. You, sir... you need to focus on now. I've given you a chance to walk free. To put that gift of yours to work, to find... What does Dutton call him? The Blacksmith. If I were in your shoes... I would use this opportunity to find your justice, to kill your way to justice! And not for me. Of course not. Not for yourself. For your family. For them."
"Fisk."
"Yes?"
"You know... next time I see you... only one of us walks away."
"Yes, of course. I'm counting on it."
―Frank Castle and Wilson Fisk[src]

Episode 2.11: .380

Spoken by Frank Castle

"You call the police, get protective custody, get away from this thing, away from me. Just stay away from me."
―Punisher to Karen Page[src]
"One batch, two batch penny and dime. Here I come. Here I come."
―Punisher[src]

Dialogue

"Okay, so walk away, go."
"Blacksmith already tried to get me once, I really don't want to give him a second chance."
"He's not gonna get it."
―Frank Castle and Karen Page[src]
"You pick it out yourself?"
"Why?"
"People who don't know shit about guns usually go for something shiny. You know, something with a with a fancy grip. There's always the asshole who gets the big hand cannon that kicks like a mule and they're too afraid to use it. But a 380 shows thought."
―Frank Castle and Karen Page[src]
"I can't let you start a war for the wrong reasons."
"Maybe a war is what I need. Maybe I need that. These people, they took my children from me. They killed my kids! Don't you get that?"
"Then do right by them! Help me, work with me to find the man who gave the order."
"And then what, Red, we gonna bring them in for justice, is that what we're gonna do? Your way's bullshit, Red, it doesn't work, I need them dead, I need them gone! It's gotta be permanent, it's gotta be finished!"
Daredevil and Punisher[src]

Episode 2.12: The Dark at the End of the Tunnel

Spoken about Frank Castle

"And don't worry that so-called "police protection" I gave you? They're crossing guards in Yonkers now."
"What? No. No, no, no. Brett, really, there's There's nothing they could do. It wasn't their fault. Frank followed me. He kidnapped me."
"Well, thank Christ you managed to get away. Not many people can say that about the Punisher. Seriously, go home. Get some sleep. Ambien's the real deal. Look I know what you're thinking. Maybe Castle survived. Maybe he's still out there. He ain't."
"How can you be sure? You ID him yet?"
"There's 20 burned bodies. It takes time."
"So there's a chance."
"You saw the same explosion I did. You're safe, Karen. That nightmare you've been living, it's over. Frank Castle's a dead man."
Brett Mahoney and Karen Page[src]

Dialogue

"One shot, one kill, you taught me that."
"You stupid son o-"
