In 1943, Johann Schmidt and his HYDRA division went rogue, separating themselves from the Nazi regime and intended to nuke the capitals of all countries that would resist his conquest, including Rome.

Hunt of Bruce Banner

Bruce Banner, on the run from the United States Armed Forces and labelled as a fugitive, traveled to Italy searching for a safe place to research a cure for his transformations into Hulk.

One of his transformations was triggered in Rome, and Hulk was reported to have been seen.
