"Please tell me you got that chopper in the air!"
Falcon to Black Widow[src]

The S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicopters are a series of helicopters used by S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.

History[]

Destruction of Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S.[]

SHIELDProjectPegasusFacility2-Avengers

Nick Fury and Maria Hill arrived to the Joint Dark Energy Mission Facility in the Mojave Desert using one of the helicopters.

As Loki, Clint Barton, and Erik Selvig attempted to escape with the Tesseract, Fury boarded a helicopter to stop them. Fury shot at them personally with his handgun; Loki shot at him with the Scepter. The Helicopter crashed, Loki escaped, and Fury called Maria Hill and Phil Coulson to tell them that the Chitauri Invasion had begun.[1]

Extraction of Grant Ward[]

A S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicopter was used to extract Grant Ward from Paris following a successful mission to retrieve a Chitauri Neural Link in T. Vanchat's possession.[2]

Arrest of Vanchat[]

HandMP

Multiple S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicopters flew and hovered about the roof of the building from which T. Vanchat attempted escape as Coulson's Team led by Victoria Hand captured him to gain information on Phil Coulson's possible location when he was abducted by the Centipede Project. Hand and a S.W.A.T. team exited a helicopter to hold the fugitive at gunpoint.[3]

Falcon's Escape[]

Triskelioncomms
"41st floor! 41st!"
"It's not like they keep the floor numbers on the outside of the building!"
Sam Wilson and Nick Fury[src]

During the Battle at the Triskelion, Sam Wilson was left in the Triskelion as a Project Insight Helicarrier collided into it. Over comms, Falcon made his location on the 41st floor of the building known to Nick Fury and Natasha Romanoff, who piloted a S.H.I.E.L.D. helicopter to the Triskelion to catch Wilson; however, they stopped the helicopter several floors below Wilson's position, and as he jumped from the building, Fury tilted the helicopter so that Wilson would not be sliced by the rotors. Inside of the chopper, Wilson yelled at Fury for not arriving at the 41st floor, but he rebutted that there was no way for him to know as S.H.I.E.L.D. did not put the floor numbers on the exterior.[4]

HYDRA Uprising[]

"We were outnumbered and S.H.I.E.L.D. pressed the advantage."
"You managed to make it out with the chopper."
Kaminsky and John Garrett[src]

One helicopter was located at the Cube. When Kaminsky and the other HYDRA agents located at the Cube were outnumbered, they managed to get away with the helicopter and bring it to Cuba.

When Grant Ward and John Garrett had difficulty entering the Fridge, because of the orders the guards were given by Victoria Hand, Kaminsky's chopper arrived and began firing on them. This made the guards believe Ward's story and allow them to enter the Fridge.

The weapons and other objects stolen from the Fridge were loaded into this chopper and brought to Cuba.[5]

Isabelle Hartley and Bobbi Morse arrived on the Iliad via a chopper on orders from Nick Fury to save Robert Gonzales and enact Protocol ASTA06. Morse asked Hartley to get the chopper ready to evacuate Gonzales, citing that he had a broken leg.[6]

Alternate Universe Versions[]

Ultimo Transformation[]

SHIELD Vanguard

A team of S.H.I.E.L.D. helicopters move toward Roxxon

In an alternate universe, S.H.I.E.L.D. deployed several helicopters to assist in Tony Stark's investigation of a Russian facility which had been taken over by separatists. Stark escorted the helicopters through the canyons, but came across radar-cloaked weapons. Stark and the helicopters fought against their attackers and defeated them, but they were then attacked by an Roxxon Armiger. Stark ordered the helicopters to slow down and let him attack first. However, one helicopter pilot insisted on providing covering fire. The Armiger destroyed the helicopter, crashing it and killing the pilot. The other helicopters stayed back while Stark destroyed the Armiger, allowing the helicopters to continue moving.

They reached a tunnel entrance and destroyed its defenses, allowing them to enter the tunnel. On the other side, they joined the larger conflict already happening with the Helicarrier as Fury noted that they had Valentin Shatalov's insurrectionists outnumbered and ordered an assault.

Natasha Boards Helicopter

Natasha Romanoff boards a S.H.I.E.L.D. helicopter

A S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicopter was later sent to Russia to extract Natasha Romanoff from her undercover assignment with Valentin Shatalov. Romanoff boarded the helicopter once it was cleared to arrive using a grappling hook.

S.H.I.E.L.D. later deployed helicopters to insist in their defense of the Helicarrier during Operation Daybreak. One helicopter took Pepper Potts to safety.

Nick Fury deployed several S.H.I.E.L.D. helicopters to fight Ultimo. Stark asked for all the helicopters to attack at once, which they did, but they took damage as James Rhodes attempted to keep one in the air. However, it worked as Ultimo was defeated.[7]

Designs[]

S.H.I.E.L.D. has multiple designs in its helicopters, depending on the purpose of use. During the capture of the criminal T. Vanchat, transport helicopters and military choppers were used to surround the roof of the building with Victoria Hand arriving in a transport style vehicle. Kaminski was the pilot of a military chopper.
