"STRIKE, you heard the Cap! Gear up!"
Brock Rumlow[src]

STRIKE (Special Tactical Reserve for International Key Emergencies) was a counter-terrorist Special Mission Unit of S.H.I.E.L.D. led by Brock Rumlow. Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff participated in some of their operations. However, most members of the team were actually undercover HYDRA operatives.

"STRIKE, move it out!"

STRIKE was assigned to recapture the S.H.I.E.L.D. ship Lemurian Star from mercenaries led by Georges Batroc, a pirate with a reputation for maximum casualties.

When Steve Rogers was in the hospital after the assassination attempt of Nick Fury, STRIKE was sent by Alexander Pierce to bring him in for questioning.

Later they attacked Captain America in one of the lifts in the Triskelion, on the orders of Alexander Pierce who labelled him a fugitive.

They attempted and failed to capture Captain America and Black Widow in a mall after they went rogue.

Members of STRIKE were among those who captured Captain America, Black Widow, and Falcon after the three had a pitched battle in the streets of Washington, D.C. with the Winter Soldier.

Members of STRIKE battled loyal members of S.H.I.E.L.D. after Captain America revealed the HYDRA infiltration. [1]

  • In the comics, S.T.R.I.K.E. was a British organization directed by Lance Hunter and analogous to S.H.I.E.L.D., its name being an acronym for Special Tactical Reserve for International Key Emergencies.
  • The patch used by the STRIKE and Insight agents on their uniform have green and yellow details, colors that are used by HYDRA in the comics.
