South Africa, officially the Republic of South Africa, is a country located at the southern tip of Africa.

History[]

Bobbi Morse's Honeymoon[]

Bobbi Morse could not go on her honeymoon with Lance Hunter because she was in the middle of a mission in Johannesburg.[2]

Mercenaries[]

South Africa has a reputation amongst the international community of being one of the best places in the world to train a mercenary. As such, Phil Coulson named South Africa as one of the possible places where Thor received the training needed to subdue the multiple S.H.I.E.L.D. agents he defeated while trying to gain access to the heavily custodied Mjølnir in New Mexico.[3]

In 2015, the Avengers found Ultron in an abandoned shipyard in South Africa. During the ensuing fight, Wanda Maximoff used her powers to unleash hallucinations on Steve Rogers, Natasha Romanoff, Thor, and Bruce Banner. The visions caused Banner to turn into the Hulk and he rampaged in the nearest city, Johannesburg. Tony Stark rushed into action and used the Hulkbuster armor in order to stop Hulk.[4]

In April 2016, the U.S. Vice President planned an outreach to South Africa after the devastation of the Duel of Johannesburg.[6]
