Who else thinks that we should put this image in the infobox? That's It's current form, and you can also see It's actual body beneath Ward's skin. Dr.Who1997To The Playground 18:36, December 11, 2015 (UTC)

  • I agree that we should put that image in the infobox. It is It's current form which It may use of the rest of the season given that Brett Dalton is a series regular. User:Ellchicago

Names/Powers

Should Alveus really be classified as Its "real" name? It's just an ancient Latin name that seems to be describing Its powers (beehive is one of the translations). 

Also in the names section, Hydra-God could be added as an alias, as he's referred to as such. 

As far as powers, I propose a rewriting of that section as follows, though more fleshed out. I'll work on polishing it tomorrow: 

Longevity/Possession. Can jump from corpse to corpse to stay alive for hundreds of years. 

Regeneration: Can absorb flesh to heal or renew the corpse he occupies. 

Microbe control (the sandstorm): Can mentally control dense clouds of microorganisms that resemble sand particulates suspended in the air. Can strip human flesh off of bone in a matter of seconds and can cover a large area, resembling a natural sandstorm. 

And then theorized/unconfirmed powers. Controlling other Inhumans, widening the chasm on Maveth, resisting Gorgon's paralyzing gaze, smelling blood (could be part of the microbe thing, could be just Will being scared of it.

Abilities

Hive clearly retains the abilities of its current and former hosts. For that reason, should we include that it's an expert combatant? Yes, it's using what Ward knew, but it's still using those skills. It couldn't hurt to add it.Jonathan Brock (talk) 23:44, May 9, 2016 (UTC)

Gender

It appears that there is inconsistency in the article pertaining Hive's gender. Alveus was male in the original human body, but in its parasitic organism form, the gender is unclear. Alveus maintains masculine personality and behavior and refers to itself as in singular form (i.e. I have a better use for them).

However, many others, such as Will Daniels and Gideon Malick refer to Hive as "IT" (i.e. It doesn't want us to leave) and Alveus sometimes refers to itself as "We" (i.e. "We like to hear that), implying that Hive is genderless as a parasite.

To clear up any confusion, I would like to know what the consensus is on Hive's current gender (male or genderless) is so that the article's use of pronouns can be consistent. SonOfAres1 (talk) 22:38, May 19, 2016 (UTC)SonOfAres1

  • I personally consider Hive genderless, and have treated it as such in my edits to Personality and Powers, since I think gender has become meaningless at this point. Yes, S.H.I.E.L.D. treats it as male, but that's because Grant Ward was male. Yes, we've only seen male hosts, but what's to say it was incapable of inhabiting female hosts? For all we know, Hive might not have had access to female hosts because women were ineligible for the Traveller rituals. Or maybe there were female Travellers we haven't seen, as we only know of three hosts, and there were clearly hosts predating Nathaniel Malick. However, I am not a mod, and I agree that we need a consensus. Whatever the mods think, I'm happy with it, even if I disagree. ThroningErmine8 (talk) 08:44, May 20, 2016 (UTC)
For the purpose of writing, Hive, as he was originally a male human, and he has always been portrayed with a male host, is considered male in this wiki.Shabook (talk) 17:39, August 5, 2016 (UTC)
