Thor: Attack on Asgard is a book based on Thor.

Synopsis[]

A wide range of characters takes part in this cosmic tale, including Thor's steadfast allies the Warriors Three: Volstagg, Hogun, and Fandral; as well as Thor's treacherous brother, Loki, their noble father, Odin, and the warrior maiden Sif.

Plot[]

Odin worries about whether Thor is ready to be crowned King of Asgard, but Frigga assures him that he is, noting that Thor will have Loki to support him. Meanwhile, Loki asks if Thor is nervous, but Thor simply asks about his appearance. Loki compliments the appearance and a horn sounds, signalling that the coronation is starting soon. Loki leaves to take his place, and Frigga eases Thor's nerves before doing the same. As the ceremony begins, two Einherjar stand guard outside Odin's Vault, where they feel a cold breeze. They check on the Casket of Ancient Winters and get attacked. Meanwhile, Thor arrives late to the coronation to make a grand entrance. Odin starts to give a speech, but is interrupted as banners freeze over and Odin realizes that Frost Giants are attacking.

Thor, Loki, Sif, and the Warriors Three rush to the Vault, where they find that bother Einherjar and Frost Giants had been killed while Frost Giants attempted to steal the Casket. Angry, Thor suggests that they get revenge by attacking Jotunheim, but Odin refuses to break his truce with King Laufey by allowing Thor to do so. Thor gets frustrated at this decision and goes to the banquet room, where he angrily flips over a table. Loki notes that they cannot do anything without defying Odin, so Thor decides that they are going to go to Jotunheim despite Odin's orders. Sif, Loki, and the Warriors Three hesitantly agree, and they go the Himinbjorg, where Heimdall opens the Bifrost Bridge to allow them to attack.
