"You found something on Cross?"
"Many things, actually, but you already knew that, thanks to my fancy S.H.I.E.L.D. house-arrest gizmo tracking my every key swipe, my online activity, my cholesterol... Just wish it came in another color... or came off."
Phil Coulson and Skye[src]

The Tracking Bracelet is an item designed by S.H.I.E.L.D. to track the activities and movements of an individual and monitor their use of electronic devices.

History

Agent Phil Coulson of S.H.I.E.L.D. used one of these bracelets on Miles Lydon, a member of the Rising Tide, as a form of house arrest when he leaked information about one of the individuals from the Index, Chan Ho Yin, that lead to Yin's capture by the Centipede Project.

Coulson also gave another bracelet to Skye, after her apparent treason to the team when she warned Lydon that S.H.I.E.L.D. was after him. After that moment, the bracelet kept record of every use of electronic devices that Skye made.[1] Though Skye asked Coulson if he could remove the Bracelet so that she could access files to help her to find her mother, Coulson refused.[2]

When Phil Coulson was captured by the Centipede Project, agent-in-charge Victoria Hand ordered to increase the restriction level of Skye's bracelet, preventing her from using computers and phones.

Even with these obstacles, Skye managed to follow a lead on captured criminal Vanchat's financials and learned Coulson's location, regaining his trust. He removed the bracelet with the use of a keyword.[3]
