Turkey, officially known as the Republic of Turkey, is a country in Europe and Asia.

History[]

Battle of Troy[]

Following the battle of Troy, Gilgamesh, one of the Eternals, prepared a drink trio made of wine, beer, and mead for all the soldiers who fought in the battle.[1]

Ancient Visit[]

Centuries ago, Alexandra Reid, one of the leaders of the Hand visited the city of Constantinople.[2]

Guest House[]

Istanbul was the word chosen as part of the sign used by the Guest House Security Protocol to allow entrance to the people that approached the compound.

Phil Coulson, Grant Ward, Leo Fitz and John Garrett approached the gates of the compound hoping that the medical staff of the facility could help Skye to recover from the critical injuries she sustained while trying to apprehend Ian Quinn in Italy. As none of them knew the countersign and it wasn't found in any of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s directive protocols, Coulson tried to reason with the people inside, but he obtained no response and decided to hack their way inside the facility.[3]

Steel Serpent's Sales[]

Istanbul and Nurdagi were the hometowns of some of the Hand's clients that bought their Steel Serpent using the Rand Enterprises' resources.[4]

Call for Cease-Fire[]

Following the Massacre of Phi Gamma Epsilon, The Oregon Examiner reported that a cease-fire agreement negotiated by the U.S. in the Middle East was in flux amid skirmishes between Turkish and Syrian Kurdish forces.[5]

Flag Smashers' Political Ultimatum[]

In 2023, as a result of the Blip, Turkey's population was restored. Soon after, the Global Repatriation Council set up a refugee camp in Istanbul. In 2024, the Flag Smashers targeted that camp on their campaign.[6]

Behind the Scenes[]

  • Despite not having been explicitly mentioned in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the country of Turkey is identifiable due to Istanbul being its largest city.
