Fantastic Four: Doom is a 2020 superhero movie based on the Marvel Comics superhero team Fantastic Four.  It is the twenty-third installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, while also being the first installment of Phase Four.


Fantatsic Four: Doom begins after the death of Janet van Dyne, as young scientist Reed Richards and his best friend, Ben Grimm, create a device to withstand the power of dimension-crossing.

Years later, Richards and Grimm are employed under Von Doom Industries, and reunites with ex-girlfriend Susan Storm, and her brother Johnny Storm. Doom, Richards, Grimm, Johnny and Sue are experimenting with Richards latest dimension traveling spacecraft. After all five of them discover new abilities, Reed, Ben, Johnny and Sue team up to save the world from a power-crazed friend turned enemy.

Following the negative reviews of the 2015 reboot of the Fantastic Four, Marvel Studios quickly got the rights of the Fantastic Four back.

In January 2018, Variety reported that Christopher Nolan would direct a Fantastic Four reboot starring The Dark Knight Trilogy, which Nolan directed, star Christian Bale as the lead role of Reed Richards and Kevin Feige returning to produce. The Russo brothers have been confirmed to direct the third film and are working with the film's writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely for the film's story, citing that it will be the "wrap-up" of the Steve Rogers storyline. It is confirmed that the film will be released on May 6, 2016.

On October 14th, 2018, it was reported that Marvel Studios and Christian Bale were negotiating a major appearance as Bale portraying Richards in Fantastic Four. On October 28th, 2018, Christian Bale was confirmed to appear, while January Jones, Ryan Kwanten, and Mark Wahlberg was confirmed to appear as Susan Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm, respectively and the official title for the film was revealed, all at the Marvel live event in .

On January 26th, 2019, a casting call announced that Gerald Butler will portray Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom, though Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed the information.

Filming began in April, 2018 and concluded on August 21, 2018.
