ALthough Loki is the current king of Asgard, everyone still thinks its Odin. Odin mentions when he banishes Thor that there were two kings before him. In the opening of Thor we see Odin leading the fight against the Frost Giants, in Thor: the Dark World Odin's father Bor fighting against the Dark Elves, so we could see Bor's father fighting against another foe in the opening of Ragnarok, possibly the fire demons of Muspelheim.
In mythology, the first Asgardian and king was Buri, who came from the ice. His son Bor then became king after him. Bor had three sons, Odin, Vili and Ve. Vili and Ve died while adventuring to Muspelheim. The brothers had gone to steal the Eternal Flame, which we see in The Vault. Vili and Ve died so that Odin could m…Read more >
This movie does require many superheroes, as it encompasses all the Avengers in the comics. While we have seen enough heroes and villains in the movies, I was also hoping they might include people from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or Daredevil. Matt Murdock might have been called to attention by the Registration Act, as well as Deathlok showing up just because he is a cyborg.
The development of this plot line has been seen throughout previous movies. In Avengers: Age of Ultron, many civilians have been seen protesting the Avengers' interference which usually result in massive casualties and property damage. In Ant-Man, Hank Pym shows contempt for the Avengers, mentioning that they're too busy dropping cities out of the sky. The World Security Cou…Read more >
In the first Thor movie, we are first introduced to the Nine Realms. Thor mentions Nornheim as one of the realms, and in Thor: the Dark World he mentions Nornheim again. However, Nornheim is not a realm in the comics or mythology.
In the non-canon videogame Thor: God of Thunder, it is said to be where the Rock Trolls lived before they were banished to Vanaheim. While this is non-canon, there may be evidence to support this claim. Before Thor's coronation ceremony, there was a canon deleted scene where Thor and Loki talk. Thor mentions fighting through a hundred warriors during their trip to Nornheim. In the beginning of Thor: the Dark World, the Asgardian armies are fighting to restore peace in the Nine Realms, and while on Vanaheim they en…Read more >
I'm starting a blog. Every week I try to make a new post about something I have thought about or noticed or just some speculations and hopes for new movies. I'd be glad to discuss these topics further in the comments or other messaging. If you have a topic you want me to delve into or explain, leave a request and I'll look into it.
I have seen nearly all the MCU movies. I haven't seen the beginning of Hulk, or the last few episodes of Daredevil. I don't play the video games (which are non-canon anyway) or read the tie-in comics. Also, I might have some memory gaps of Agents of SHIELD, since I've seen all of them, but most of them only once.
