It's been a long time since we heard anything about "Damage Control", an ABC sitcom that's part of the MCU and follows people who clean up after superhero battles that was supposed to be part of the 2016-2017 TV season. A lot of people (myself included) are assuming that the show was cancelled before it's pilot was complete.
It's possible that ABC thought Damage Control was too big of a risk. It was based on a fairly obscure marvel comic and wouldn't have had a huge built in fanbase. A lot of people are attracted to the idea of a story where the focus is on regular people living in a superhero universe, but NBC is producing their own show called Powerless with a very similar set up.
It's also possible that either Marvel Studios or ABC simply lost interest in Damage Control. Marvel Studios has never cared that much about it's ABC shows in the first place.
A while ago it was revealed there was going to be another ABC comedy series set in the MCU, this one based on the "New Warriors" and featuring the unstoppable Squirrel Girl. Simply by including Squirrel Girl, ABC ensured that the New Warriors series would have a built in fanbase. Squirrel Girl also has a name and gimick so bizzare it will attract peoples attention.
The New Warriors is discribed as a junior version of the Avengers, a superhero squad made up of teenagers. The show would probably appeal to younger fans.
Once again ABC would be going up against another network with a similar show called "New Mutants" which is about teenagers attending the Xavier Institute. In this case however I think the two shows could co-exist.
I hope New Warriors actually gets made but with all the other projects the MCU is juggling right now. I'm worried this show will never happen.
