"This temple dates back at least 500 years. It's filled with pre-Incan artifacts. One of them is impossible."
―The Archaeologist[src]

Bryan Cole is a Professor of Archaeology that led an expedition to a pre-Incan temple in Peru.

Peruvian 0-8-4

Bryan Cole was known to be an Inhuman, but had known how to control his power and kept it secret from anyone who would expose him as one of the enhanced individuals. During his life, Bryan worked as a scientist and was fond to discovering a lot of ancient temples that were abandoned a long time ago.

While working as the lead scientist of a expedition, he and his team were busy studying one previously unknown temple in Llactapata, Peru. While there, he and his team discovered an artifact that predates the age of the temple by a millennium. He informed one of the ministries of the Peruvian government of the discovery, probably the Ministry of Defense or the Ministry of Interior, that sent the Policia Militar de Perú squad led by Camilla Reyes to secure and obtain the artifact.

When S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Phil Coulson and his team arrived at the location of the temple, Bryan and his team were ordered to evacuate the site until the risk associated with the object was determined.

Inhuman Outbreak

Target of the Watchdogs

During the Inhuman Outbreak, Bryan Cole was among the Inhumans that became targets to the Watchdogs led by Felix Blake. Despite not been a threat, he was about to be killed by Harold Simmons, but he was lucky enough to be rescued by a team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.

Joining S.H.I.E.L.D.

Six months after Hive's death, Bryan was recruited into S.H.I.E.L.D., and became a honory member of the Secret Warriors that was reorganized by Director Jeffrey Mace.
