Jennifer Susan Walters, also known as She-Hulk, was a young woman who worked as a lawyer for the Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg & Holliway and was the maternal cousin of Bruce Banner, who became the "Hulk".

Biography

Early Life

The daughter of Morris and Elaine Walters, Jennifer was born in the year 1984 and raised in New York City. Unknown to her, she was also the cousin of Bruce Banner, who had become a fugitive to the United States Armed Forces under the command of Thaddeus Ross. After attending university and graduating where she gained her law degree, she began working as a lawyer in the Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg & Holliway.

Becoming She-Hulk

In 2012, Jennifer Walters was busy talking on the phone with her boss Mallory Book until she witnessed the arrival of the Chitauri invading and attacking the city under the command of Loki. During the clash between the Avengers and the Chitauri, Jennifer was badly wounded when Chitauri aimed directly at her and almost killed her. She was taken to safety and transmitted to a local hospital, but was dying from her injury. That was when she saw her cousin Bruce for the first time, who approached her and sought to save her from her terrible injuries. Realizing Jennifer was going to die very soon, Bruce gave her a transfusion of his own synthetic blood despite the terrible risk.

While resting in the hospital, Jennifer caused herself to activate Gamma Radiation particles in her blood and suddenly began to change her skin green and increasing her size to well over the same height as the Hulk. Unlike Bruce, Jennifer had perfect control over herself and gained the same intelligence that she had in her human form. For a long time, she felt more comfortable in her She-Hulk form than her human form. Eventually, she returned to work at the Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg & Holliway, revealing to her boss on what had happened. Together, she and Mallory formed a Superhuman Law sect of the company.

Avengers Civil War

Eventually at an unknown time, Jennifer received the news of her cousin's disappearance and sought to do her part in searching for him. She earned her rank in the Avengers led by Captain America, and showed how truly excited she was to meet him. However, after an incident in Lagos, Jennifer had been working inside the Timely Plaza when she watched the news on what had happened. This caused for the United Nations to take action and established the Sokovia Accords in the name of Sokovia that was terribly damaged by Ultron, who sought to destroy the world. Jennifer was among the enhanced individuals that publicly agreed in favor of the Sokovia Accords.

During the Avengers Civil War, Jennifer received a visit from Tony Stark, who made his attempt to recruit her into his team. She agreed to be part of his team, but since she was really busy with work, she decided to tell Tony to find the crime-fighting spider in Queens. Despite been done with work, Jennifer sought to travel to Germany and help Tony in arresting Captain America for holding a damgerous fugitive, but it was too late since Steve already escaped with his friend Bucky. Jennifer assisted the United Nations in forming a manhunt for Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes.
